Best WLM Reviews
I recently hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner for my son and his new wife at the Winter Inn restaurant. The room was gorgeous, the tables were beautifully set, the food was impeccable, and the staff could not have been more attentive. My son-in-law from Ohio said that the Winter Inn is his new favorite restaurant. I received nothing but super positive comments from my guests, and family members are recommending that we come back for lunch or dinner, even though it is a bit of a drive from where we live. Highly recommend!
Service was exceptional! Vinny and his staff treated us like family. Our server was great, food was great, and delivered with a lightening quick speed. I was blown away! The whole staff deserves a raise. Great restaurant and our food was excellent!
4 generations of my family have celebrated many birthdays here. Great food, very safe for gluten free diets and lots of charm. The staff is amazing. I have stayed in the rooms before during a quilt retreat. The hallway floors are very odd. The rooms need a little updating. There can be a lot of noise for the rooms over the bar.
Can't help to say it but the wings are the best in town. Favorite sauce is their Gochujang! Great menu, an awesome nostalgic atmosphere because of the historic building and a wonderful outdoor patio area that seems to be in another place and in another time because of its charming seclusion.
The pot roast is freaking amazing! Before tonight, I would have said I don't like pot roast. This was a game-changer!
I had actually ordered the prime rib. I'm not sure if I just got a bad cut or what, but it was REALLY tough which was sad because the flavor was excellent. Luckily my husband had gotten the pot roast. I tried his and instantly knew what I was going to ask for to replace the not-so good prime rib. The server was super sweet about it and immediately replaced the main dish.
The green beans tasted very fresh and were cooked perfectly. The rice pilaf was also good.
The building is absolutely gorgeous with a ton of history. I could probably spend a day just walking around looking at this mini museum. That being said, I would not sit near a window in the winter. It was quite chilly. There are plenty of TV's for watching sports, but there's also more "romantic" seating elsewhere.
Parking is fairly limited if you want to be near the door, but there's plenty of parking if you're willing to walk a tiny bit.
Overall, it was very good and we will definitely return.
Side note: If you'd like to save a few dollars on the bill, check Groupon. They have deals on there fairly often.
ETA: We did not stay at the inn, just went for dinner.
Don't have the Thanksgiving buffet. All pressed diecut meat selections, fake mashed potatoes. And all the desert you might find...... Very disappointed and dissatisfied x the whole family!!! Never again. Highschool cafeteria dinner on Thanksgiving!! I thought I could trust them not. Waitress couldn't find desert for us either!. $95 left very disappointed. I called the restaurant the next day to discuss my experience but... No return phone call from the food and beverage manager. A complete failure for a holiday dinner! Never again. I come here all the time, and I like there menu. But stay away from the holiday meals I believe that they are catered in from nearby vendors . I rate the meal and it's poor presentation set up in a bar setting with very little to no attendees to replenish the buffet for 3 pm guests. I'm not the only dissatisfied customer, many were talking. I have a suggestion for you folks. Don't have it any more unless you can use real potatoes, a real turkey, and plan for people to at least have 1 desert each. A buffet never runs out!!!! Such a sad experience with no return phone call. Thanks winter inn. I will now rate you for the public.
Had dinner in bar area, had fried cod, was just ok. Bar area was very loud and conversation was difficult. Good selection of beers. Reasonable prices
One of my fav places to eat and stay in Greenville. Love the appetizers! When I stay there people are very friendly. One thing I would say is items forgotten are thrown away by housekeeping - but other than that love the place
