Best WLM Reviews

The hotel is conveniently located. There are several restaurants and shopping areas close by. However, once you go down the hallway, a very unpleasant odor greets you. It smelt like a combination of sweat and cigarettes. My sinuses immediately started to become irritated. The room was small and so is the restroom. There was only one mirror and only hooks on the wall to hang your clothing. The breakfast was okay. The breakfast area is the best thing about this hotel. The pool was covered, so don't expect to take a dip like I wanted to. The desk chair was on its last leg. The Caucasian male front desk guy was not friendly. The African American female front desk worker who was working the day I checked out was very friendly.
It wasn't a great place. The room smells bad. The bathroom door didn't close and the room was nasty. I got the room for 2 nights and only stayed one. The alarm clock was set from the past guest and woke up at 6am. The other guest there was noisy. People upstairs was loud and the people next too us. Not a great place
Positive: The staff was friendly and welcoming. Check in and out was quick and seamless. When we arrived we were exhausted from being at a volleyball tournament all day and were glad the hotel was both quiet and clean. Negative: We found the surrounding area to be quite congested, which was frustrating. The hotel was across the street from where we ate dinner and it took us 20mins to get to it because of the crazy traffic pattern. But, you can't pick up a hotel and move it! Negative: ""
The hotel smelled heavily of cigarettes and marijuana. It states everywhere that this is a smoke free hotel, it is not. I am now sick from my stay, my sinuses are severely congested after inhaling this awful odor.
The bathtub was stained and it took a very long time for hot water to run through. It was also difficult to figure out how to even adjust the dial to make it hot. If it was turned to one spot, the water would completely turn off. The grout and caulking around the base of the shower had rust seeping through, and was caked in dirt and hair. The shampoo and conditioner mounts in the shower were broken, and had pink mold inside the holders.
The bathroom sink was heavily cracked and was very slow to drain, it was probably clogged. The hardware in the bathrooms was crooked, there was no door hardware installed on the closet door (nor the entry closet, making it inaccessible) inside the bathroom. The artwork on the walls had brown stains all over it. The liner on the ironing board was ripped and stained, didn’t have a cover on it. There was no hair dryer (I have NEVER stayed at any hotel, no matter how many stars, with no hair dryer available). We were only given two full size towels and two half size towels. One half size had black hair folded into it (I’m blonde, it’s definitely not mine).
The bedding was not clean. One of the pillows had streaks from a previous guest’s make up. When we pulled out the sofa bed, we immediately folded it back up due to stains on the mattress. No linen for said sofa bed was provided. The sofa itself had stains on it. The desk and side tables in the common area had red paint on them. The walls had scrapes and chips in the paint/plaster. The plaster was present all over the outlets and light switches. Fluorescent lighting was installed everywhere, which was very harsh and uninviting.
The room came with a kitchenette, but nothing to use to cook. Tons of cabinet space, but no pots, pans, or utensils available. I’ve never experienced this with rooms that have a kitchenette, they come with dish soap too in my experience. No dish soap (or even hand soap) available at this sink.
Even the elevator was disgusting. The buttons had grime all over them, the floors filthy.
The breakfast was not available, well before check out. We left before 10am, nothing. The lobby snack shop had close to zero refreshments/snacks available. There was no one at the front desk except when we originally checked in, so no way to file complaints.
This hotel claims to be updated… that’s a very clear work in progress, and what has been done, has been done very poorly. HIGHLY disappointed is an understatement. The description of the hotel on Price Line is extremely misleading, the hotel is an absolute dump. Do not let the photos fool you. This bandaid-fix of an “update,” shouldn’t even been considered so. Everything that’s newer is already falling apart. This hotel needs to be heavily investigated, I would not want my name associated with this hotel if I were Wyndham. This was vile and completely unacceptable. The more you look around, the worse it gets.
I would not stay here again.
During the recent winter storm I was forced to stop travel, but luckily the Wingate was accessible was able to stay two nights without any issues and at a decent rate. I can't say enough about the staff and the property. The room was clean and cozy! The breakfast had so many options. The dedication of the AGM, John and his staff to be available in such a freak snow storm is to be commended. The great customer service didn't end with our stay. We left behind something and the manager was more than willing to help me get it shipped out asap. In my future travels I will always try to find a Wingate by Wyndham property
The bathrooms are extremely small. Our room had no closet and no full length mirror. The road noise is loud, so bring something to drown the noise out. Breakfast is very small. Go out to eat, it will be worth it.
We haven’t been in the room for two hours yet. The elevator tracks were nasty. Walking down the hallway, the carpet was dirty. It was evident that trash bags had leaked out onto the carpet. The smell was old, musty, dank and mildew. Such disrepair. The T/P holder was falling off the wall with the last dozen sheets of paper on it. As I lifted the commode seat, the commode tank shifted A LOT. As I looked around I noticed two cockroaches. The lavatory was improperly installed and was loose. The drain was somewhat slow but it was reasonable considering everything else. Caulking was carelessly done. The comforter had dirty spots. The light bulb was flashing on and off. The abundance of BAD sheet rock repairs is a testimony of disregard for the customer. Almost forgot, no closet. My wife called the front desk and asked if there were any rooms that had closets, and was told, “I don’t think so. The KING room was so small that you had to step out into the hallway to change your mind. We the customer deserve better. Buyer Beware!!!
Hey Wyndham, don’t you inspect what you expect. Do what you want, but if it’s up to me, I’d pull my flag off the pole.
I will start with the pluses!????Good, friendly service from the staff. Eager to help. The free breakfast was better than expected. Excellent with a variety of hot and cold items. Lots of fruit.???? The hotel and my room were very clean and comfortable. The price was very reasonable. ????????The only negatives was the outside pool water had a lot of debris in it but I was able to take care of that with the net and a few laps around the pool. My bathroom's shower pressure was low. The lighting was bright but needs a floor or desk lamp in the living room for better ambience in the evening. I loved having a TV in the living room and bedroom. I will definitely stay here again!
