Best WLM Reviews
Nice place. Food portions are generous and the cinnamon rolls are massive! Highly recommend! We ordered a Birds Nest and Hashbrown Omelet. One regular cinnamon roll and one fried cinnamon with cinnamon frosting.
This is an interesting place. It's not very big, so when we arrived there were a few people standing outside. At first, I thought they were just waiting for takeout orders, but they were actually waiting on line to be seated. There is no room inside, so they have a sign posted to just wait outside to be seated, no check in required. We were seated within a few minutes inside the long narrow diner, where it was a bit dark and rustic, but not unpleasant. Our server was friendly and helpful, and I ordered a burger that was excellent. While not a cheap option, the cost was certainly reasonable for the quality of the meal we received that day. It's not a fancy dinner date sort of place, but it's fantastic for a tasty and relatively expedient lunch.
Love this place!! It has a very cute and cozy interior, and was beautifully decorated for Christmas when we came. The service is also great, very friendly. We ordered the deep fried cinnamon roll which was absolutely delicious, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, definitely worth the 2 hour drive from Chicago! If you’re a savory breakfast person, I recommend the Holland omelette.
A good tip: if you come on the weekend, plan ahead and be prepared to wait outside for a table as they will not take your name or a reservation.
The wait was worth it. The cinnamon rolls were out of this world. They had gluten-free as well, which was a huge bonus. They also carry gluten-free buns and all of our food was huge and amazing.
So glad a local recommended the hashbrown casserole with sausage gravy on top--Absolutely delicious and filling. Ordered the mini size and still had leftovers. He also said the cinnamon roll was a must and it was very tasty. Great food and service. Location could use updating and very small location but the food makes it an absolute must go.
First time there for me. Went with family who frequent the place. Great breakfast food options. They do lunch as well. Food was great and service was awesome. We ordered extra items to share, deep fried cinnamon roll is a must have!
Went early in the morning. Place is welcoming service is friendly and kind. Food is amazing. I would recommend trying. Heads up they do get busy and a line out the door. Luckily my group went early. Even if you arrive late the food is worth the wait.
The Windmill Restaurant was so delicious and well worth the wait. We only waited about 20 minutes on a busy Saturday morning prior to being seated. We had the Birds Nest meal and Hashbrown omelet. Both of these meals were so tasty and unique. It's definitely not something you can find at every diner. The coffee was hot and fresh with plenty of refills available. 0verall, a great breakfast spot!
