Best WLM Reviews

Busy, sports, food. As busy as it gets, the folks here are still able to maintain that neighborhood pub vibe where everyone can feel welcome and like they always have room for one more. The wings are crispy, even the ones with wet sauce. ???? draft beers come in the taller glasses, 20oz?
Enjoy it on a busy night, but I also encourage you to swing by again on a quiet evening and just take it for what it is, a relaxing place to chill out and unwind a little. Folks are really laid back in this bar, I've never seen anyone super wound up or acting a fool. They just don't abide it.
Tater tots basket is humongous - fit for the whole team. Grab a basket full and chill out with your crew. Good times!
Your friendly neighborhood bar with several screens for sport, touchtunes to for your listening pleasure and fantastic wings. The bar staff were pleasant. The patrons were courteous. The beer selection is large and inexpensive. They also have a variety of NA beers to choose from as well. $1 wings all of time. They are extra crispy and the “kitchen sink” sauce is divine. Perfect, chill, spot to catch a game, beer, wings and some great conversation. Thumbs up.
Stopped into William Penn on a walk from Lawrenceville down to the pirates stadium. Immediately loved the atmosphere and people that were in there, everyone was kind and welcoming. They have $1 wings, boneless and bone-in that were great as well as $4 20oz draft beers. Great spot!
Dear William Penn Tavern,
I just wanted to thank you for running an excellent establishment. I came for happy hour tonight, and had some Guinness and some onion rings. I absolutely love onion rings, and I was very happy with the sizable portion that you provided. The server was excellent, and always greeted us with a smile. I especially love that you have the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip still up. That’s one of my favorite comic strips and it’s a great addition to the restaurant. keep up the great work and I can’t wait to come back. Cheers.
The WPT has moved locations but their cheesesteaks haven’t changed. Soft hoagie roll isn’t my choice, but works well for this sub. A little extra pepper relish on the side for a little heat, but can’t forget a lite line of Heinz to top off this. I remember the wings being pretty tasty too.
My husband got the steak ???? hoagie he said it was delicious ???? but the bread ???? could have been better and little soggy.
Where to even start with this place? How about the wait staff. My family and I went here for dinner and was greeted by a friendly older gentleman (the only reason this place even deserves a star). Once we took our seats our waitress seemed upset by the fact that we wanted food. She was poor tempered the whole time, and she wasn't even close to the worst part. We ordered fried pickles and jalapenos for an appetizer. They came after the rest of our meal and everything was brought out one at a time, rather than everything being brought out at once. The breading on the fried appetizers was just normal breading so no complaints there, but the vegetables inside were just horrible.
I ordered the po boy which was basically frozen fried shrimp that was placed on stale bread. My brother ordered their Caribbean jerk "dry rub" chicken wings. As you can see by the pictures they look like tyson nuggets that had Italian season poured on them after they had been placed in the basket. And I'm not kidding that the "dry rub" was literally Italian seasoning with some sort of spicy mix added in. The bbq wings had the exact same thing, but instead of seasoning it was just sauce poured over them.
The beer was flat and tasteless as well. Overall I cannot even begin to recommend this place to anyone.
Outstanding bar/tavern that was formerly located in Shadyside. Wings cannot be beat - get the “kitchen sink” version.
