Best WLM Reviews

You might not expect to find a worthwhile plant-based menu item at a BBQ place but the Earthy Crunchy Wrap was excellent! There was something pickled in it that added flavor dimension. It was a generously-sized wrap as well. Some thought was clearly put into the flavor profile which is rare for a place that doesn't specialize in plant-based food. I was delighted!
Very good barbecue! Stopped in during a work trip for lunch. My eyes were much much bigger than my stomach as I had to take a good portion of my meal back to the hotel.
I ordered the two meat combo plate with pulled pork, brisket, Mac and cheese, and potato salad. Everything was good but i especially loved the potato salad.
Prices were fair especially given the ample portion sizes provided. Will definitely visit again when in town!
We stopped here for something new. Never been here before. We were very delighted with the choices on the menu and variety of meals.
I had the single beef rib with mashed potatoes and homemade gravy. It was tender and full of flavor.
My husband had the southern fried chicken sandwich. It came on a toasted roll with in house BBQ sauce, potato salad as a side with cornbread. Large portions and decent prices. Tastes like grandma's house. We will definitely be back.
I may not be a good judge for BBQ grill, but it was a pleasant experience at Wildwood Barbeque.
I went with the basic: 1/2 rack of ribs, potato salad, corn bread, and a side of jambalaya. A bit dry, but tender ribs fell off the bone nicely. The sauces were great! The hot sauce actually got a nice kick to it, so if you are a fan of heat, definitely do recommend adding it to your sauce. Sweet corn bread went well with ribs, but potato salad was not so impressive. Jambalaya was overcooked, tasted almost like a porridge with all the ingredients had mushy texture mixed into a big ball of wet chunk and barely had any flavor. I tried a piece of black magic cake for a dessert. I expected a nice creamy frosting when it was a thick sugar icing in every layer that way too sweet for my taste.
I might still go back to try other dishes since they got a nice varieties on their menu. They also have a good selections of drinks. Good atmosphere.
Great looking food but what a shame… pulled chicken dryer than sandpaper, dry bbq beans, brisket room temp and very clearly reheated food. What shame this place has a great atmosphere, the cooking technique is there with the smoking and seasoning but their downfall is the reheating of days old meats. There is absolutely no way these meats are freshly smoked that day which is so unfortunate because this place could be so much better if they didn’t take shortcuts on the food. Bbq is about time and love which they put into it on the brisket, burnt ends, and other meats only to be ruined by being reheated and no quality control. Come on guys TASTE your food before it goes out or is served! The average person wont know the difference but I have been in restaurants for 23 years and I am a Bbq addict and smoke meats also, I would bet $100 that these are day old meats and sides reheated… you can do better.
Food is pretty solid but was not blown away. I went there a couple of hours prior to close so this could have very likely the reason why. The ribs were pretty good, especially when paired with some of the sauces they offer which is probably the highlight of the dish overall. The mac and cheese was fairly underwhelming and needs a bit more love. I also got the burnt ends as well; and when you mix in some of the meat/sauce with the mac, it drastically improves it. The best part of the meal was probably the cornbread which was moist, flavorful and paired well with the main entree. I Will be sure to try again but will make sure to go earlier in the day next time. As a lover of BBQ, I would also note some items seemed a bit pricey for desirable items but the menu is big enough to where you can find something fulfilling for a reasonable price.
I remember when the owner of this shop was interviewed by a local paper and he's stuck by everything he said since. He experiments with nontraditional sauces, experiments with creating new fusions of other cuisines with traditional barbecue. I had not stopped in to eat here in a few years until spotting in on grubhub recently.
Since then, I've tried the fried catfish appetizers, smoked wings, nachos with brisket, loaded baked sweet potato, burnt ends sandwich and the Philly cheese steak sandwich and every single dish has been good. While the Philly really didn't measure up to a #9, the nachos, loaded baked potato, fried catfish and burnt ends exceeded expectations raising this establishment into one of my top 3 go tos.
*Dining in tip- wait by the counter for your food, so you get it while its hot, the air flow by the counter rapidly cools the food from my observation or they're not serving it warm enough.
Kinda small place but delicious, I have already gone 3 times and will be going back
