It takes all day if you have to go anywhere.
Very few of the drivers are nice and respectful. The Wichita Transit drivers are the rudest bunch of people I ever experienced, working with public. They know people need their service, so who cares. I use to use the transit all the time. They were rude then as well. Drivers were rude today. If you work outside of the hours 8-5. You going to have to find different transportation.
I found myself riding a city bus on Tuesday mid morning and it was a nice experience. I hadn’t ridden the bus since before Covid happened so I wasn’t too sure what to expect.
I caught the #12 bus outbound to 13th&Tyler ( it was closest I could get to where I needed to be) . The outbound bus went right by my house so that was nice not to have to wait very long.
Before riding I researched on the My Trip app first to make sure I was catching the correct bus. I also called the transit center info line to find out if Veterans still ride for free and they do. The fella I spoke to was kind, courteous and knowledgeable. The bus I ride on was clean and fairly comfortable, and the ride was smooth. I will definitely consider riding the city bus again if the need ever arises. Even if I had to pay regular fare of $1.75 I would still ride because it is much cheaper than getting an Uber.
I have been waiting for route 21 hate here on K96 and Greenwich since 4 34 20 five, and I am it's now 5 5 20 and the bus is still not here and I've called several times now. They're saying I'll be here at first they told me to be there shortly now. They're saying to be here at 5:30. Not very happy.
I've had to go back to public transportation ever since i was in a wreck a while back , and i HATE it ! Most of the drivers are very rude and don't speak to you . instead of letting you on the bus at the station, they close up the buses and stand around talking while everyone is standing in the hot heat/freezing cold. And i hate that they run every hour, and only up until 6-7 p.m. This morning, i left home to catch the 7:55 bus, only to find out that there wasn't one ! And now I'm an hour late to work ! They need to update their bus schedules or something ! The bus system in Wichita is trash !

I had to call the transit center to find out where Bus 12 was on its route, because it wasn't showing up on their GPS map. The woman I spoke with on the phone was very hateful during her explanation that they were having issues with their computers. Not customer friendly at all.
**Not only are the drivers rude, riders now have to pay double if they get on an outbound bus to go back to the transit center. The driver made ME pay again...but DID NOT make the other passenger pay again who was already on the bus before i was picked up. I have been gone from Wichita for 6 years. Came back in January, and the company has completely gone downhill with a double pay policy.
**BUS PASSES ARE THE BEST OPTION IF YOU DONT WANT TO WASTE MONEY FOR DOUBLE PAYMENT**
Bus 12 -#3504 -OUTBOUND- The driver was extremely rude when I got on the bus. He ignored me when I asked him a question about the route, so I went to sit down. He took off before I got to a seat which nearly made me fall. He was speading which the other passengers even complained about. This experience with the employees of the Wichita Transit Center has not been a pleasant one. They seem to hate their job, and have a serious problem with communication. Not good qualities when working with the public.
This was the 3 rd time I've had to cancel this drs appointment due to the city bus causing to be late. Very late. I have tried to leave as much as an hour earlier because they won't run on time, or just drive right by you, and this last time , today, they decided to have the bus I was on run an hour early and at arrival at the transit station they decide to shut this route completely out of service for an hour and didn't tell us. Just had the people on this bus get off the bed and left us standing there. It causede to be late waiting on the bus that passede by, and I missed the bus that left an hour, and the next bus was going to be another hour. The bus system is way to undependable and I won't be trying to use it again unless it's the last resort. It mightmakeit easier for the bus employees but it's not working for the riders.
The bus drivers are too busy talking instead of doing they job. It be cold outside and the people who riding the bus have to stay outside in the cold while the drivers are inside warm. They dont have any respect for anyone who is riding the bus. They already at work and instead of them doing what they suppose to do they too busy talking about non sense. Transit center need to train they employees right.
Whorible experience . Keith E driver # 2215 if probably the absolute most disrespectful and rude Experience I've ever. Had. Took our party. All over wichita. And said we missed our drop off and did not notify. Us and complained when we didint know where we were. Your a public servant That we pay for . And we're completely berated for not understanding our location. And tried kicking us us off. 3 miles away from our destination. With absolutely no information .
