Best WLM Reviews

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with an indulgent meal at the Chandler. The waitstaff was perfect from start to end. The duck thigh app was the sparkling highlight of the night for me but throughly enjoyed the perfect lamb chops, sherried mushrooms and shared a wedge salad. My husband's scallops were the best I have ever tasted, he ended up taking most of the porter house steak home that was perfect as well. We were surprised with a dessert on the house for our anniversary. I can't forget the perfect cocktail called the Charlotte. The only negative for me and it might not be for other people is that I could see the large screen TV in the bar from my table. The prices reflect the beautiful high quality service and food.
The server was friendly, but never brought our drinks other than water. My wife was brought too few oysters the first time which the server more than made up for, but it took 45 minutes to get our food. The sauce with the scallops did not pair well together. The steak was cooked properly, but the grill desperately needs cleaning, it tasted like soot. The quality of the meat itself was suspect too. For almost $70 a NY strip should be tender with a buttery band of fat around the edge. It was riddled with tendons making it hard to chew and what should have been buttery fat was hard grissle I had to spit out. The Mac and cheese had good flavor but the pasta was WAY over cooked to the point of falling apart and being mushy. The fries were the highlight of the evening which isn't a good sign for a steak house, but they were excellent. Overall the value was not good, the food doesn't even come close to justifying the price even at a casino. I could have gotten the same quality at Applebee's for 1/4 of the price. Since we had a gift certificate it was fine, but I wouldn't spend my money here again.
We received a very welcoming greeting. We did have reservations and they were able to seat us a little early. I loved the atmosphere. The seating felt private and very comfortable. No complaints about my dish. Scallops were very yummy. Our waiter was polite and alert. Thank you for a positive date night. We will return!
I had a 6:15pm reservations. I showed up at 6:09pm and was told that I had to wait until my time. The restaurant was half empty, really? I was greeted and apparently they have no bread, but they did set up plates and knives for it. They could not substitute fries for a small salad, but they did change them for carrots. The carrots were soft and tasty. The steak was burnt on the outside, but we ate the prime steak. The bottom of the potato was burned as well, so they took it off the bill. The garlic was so burnt you could not recognize it well. They asked about a special occasion and I put down my Mom's Birthday as it is her Birthday this week. They did not even acknowledge her birthday. I would not go back given there are so many places to go to that are less money and so much better in quality and service.
The Chandler Steakhouse, located inside the MGM Springfield, is quality dining at its finest.
Our party arrived for our 5:45 reservation on a Thursday evening, and were seated in a private room, with mahogany, leather padded walls.
The Chandler Crab Cake, consisting of jumbo lump crab, lemon caviar aioli, and capers was an incredible appetizer, with just enough breading to hold the tender crab meat together. Every lemony morsel practically dissolved upon contact with the tongue.
The Garlic Shrimp, with garlic lemon butter and a side of grilled crostini was delicious. The fresh shrimp seemed to be infused with garlic goodness and was quite pleasing to the palate.
The New England Cheese Experience was scrumptious, and included the chef’s curated selection of Brie, Bleu, and Swiss type cheeses, honeycomb, stone fruit jam, and Marcona almonds.
The medium-rare 8-ounce filet was extraordinary. The resting of the cut was perfectly timed, allowing the juices to let loose in the mouth instead of on the plate, giving that "melting" sensation. The large. loaded baked potato was very tasty, with bacon chunks and melted cheese stealing the show.
The vanilla bean creme brulee was also exquisite, highlighted with blueberries, a slice of strawberry, and an iced cookie. It was a perfect conclusion to a perfect meal.
If you're successful at the casino, take some of those winnings and treat yourself to an exceptional dining experience. The Chandler Steakhouse is more than a safe bet.
The greeter/ hostess stand ladies could've had more of a welcoming personality but lacked on the whole greeting. Ambiance and decor felt very romantic in this setting. Velvety oval round booth style seating great for couples or groups dining together. Table style seating for larger parties and a private room available to rent for special occasions. New menu changeover as of Saturday. For cocktails I started with Falling For Fizz that was bubbly with pear and ended with an Espresso Martini with fresh brewed espresso made dark. I had a Berry & Heirloom tomato salad and for my entrée the Blackened Scallops that were both very delicious! Prices are on the higher side as it's a steakhouse but this is fine dining with quality food. Would definitely come back.
My wife and I go here once a year for our Anniversary. The service is impeccable and exactly what you would expect from a top notch steakhouse. We were seated quickly into a cozy rounded booth for two.
We started with a couple drinks. Pear Moscow Mule for my wife and an Old Fashioned for me. Both were good. The mule was very ginger forward.
We had some house bread and butter, the carpaccio, and some soup as starters. The carpaccio was melt in your mouth good. I got the French onion soup which looked as good as it tasted. My wife got the lobster bisque which was poured tableside which is an interesting touch to keep the lobster from getting too tough in the hit broth.
We both ordered the 18oz bone-in ribeye. Both came out cooked nicely and we're very good.
We finished the night with coffee and chocolate cake.
It was a great night and I highly recommend it for special occasions. If you can afford to go more often I wouldn't stop you.
The food was so delicious, staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. Everyone we encountered was so professional and just so nice. Our server had a wonderful personality.
We tried the recommendations from our server:
Appetizers: crab cake, French onion soup
Entrees: salmon, filet mignon
Sides: loaded baked potato, grilled street corn
Dessert: fried banana bread pudding
EVERYTHING was spectacular!
