While there isn’t a lot of parking, there’s enough and it’s free. This is definitely more for social drinking and enjoying time with friends than it is restaurant, but if you go for the food, it’s good. Service is generally good here and the setting appeases drinkers and eaters both, with a very comfortable atmosphere. It can get loud on game nights but that’s because people are having a good time. My wife usually orders the fish and chips here while I like to try different things. This last time I had the chicken tullamore, which was great.
Stumbled on this restaurant after attending services at Arlington. Excellent service, hot delicious food that came out so quickly. Friendly server Jack and thr owner were very attentive. Definitely recommended for anyone wanting to enjoy their meal. Scotch eggs yummy, fish and chips yummy! Iced Irish coffee so good.
We were visiting the area in December and our family took us there because they knew we like it last time.
The place was homey and to boot there was a Celtic Session going on, which provided a great background to an Irish Bar.
Our waitress was friendly and brought us delicious food from the kitchen.
We were passing through Washington DC from North Carolina and decided to stop by a pub, drink beer and try Irish food.
Everything was fast and perfect. The waitress was friendly, took our order quickly and was very friendly in answering our questions.
The food was brought very quickly, I didn’t want to look at the clock and check the time. The food is hot, the meat is cooked to perfection, and the portions are very large. Beer and cocktails were also excellent.
I'm sure that if I'm in those parts again, I'll definitely come here again.
What do you do when you get home from a road trip to find out a storm came through and your home as well as most of Columbia Pike has no electricity? You go find a pub to chill out and have a beer with dinner. The Celtic House had electricity and I have passed by the pub many times over the years saying I should stop sometime for a bite to eat. Well, Saturday night was the night. The pub was busy due to the fact they were one of the only places with electricity on Columbia Pike; however, the staff was prompt to show us a table when we came in and take our drink order. We ordered a couple beers, Irish egg rolls, fish and chips, and Guinness beef stew. Everything tasted great. The atmosphere was great for hanging out, watching sports, or just chatting. We would definitely comeback. Thanks for the opportunity to relax and eat during the summer storm aftermath!
If you are looking for a true local pub, this is it. It is cleaner than a lot of the pubs we’ve enjoyed in Ireland, but feels no less authentic! I recently hosted a dinner and happy hour with 10 colleagues here and the service was top notch. They took such good care of us that we didn’t want the night to end, so we headed downstairs to the Whiskey bar! I can’t say enough about how much we enjoy the laid back atmosphere with incredible service. The perfect combo.
Came in and the owner and waitress were super personable! The food was great (soup of the day, seafood chowder) and the vibe was kicking for a Saturday evening! Will def come back next time I’m in DC. Leona from Northern Ireland… first class, give her a raise
I love Celtic House! I visit here frequently for lunch since I work close by. The menu has a variety of options, including authentic Irish fare and some well-known American staples. I find that what I order is consistently good, and the servers here are the sweetest people. This is personal experience.
Separately, we had an employee of our's retiring after 44 years with our company, and we hosted his retirement party in their new Whiskey Room. This was seamless, which is more than I can say for other restaurants that we've hosted employee events at. All of the food was ready hot and on time. Servers were attentive, drinks were excellent, and the cost was extremely reasonable. Reserving this was stress-free and all of our employees had a great time.
I'd highly recommend them for both your typical lunch/dinner stop AND for corporate events!
