Best WLM Reviews

Had an opportunity to visit the Cajun Trap in Murrieta by the request of my daughter and glad we did. The food was good and plentiful for what you pay for. We ordered ours mild and it was just right, enough to enjoy and have a little kick. The service was great, the staff followed up continuously to make sure we were all good. The ambiance was neat and matched the cuisine, little bummed I hadn’t visited sooner.
It was really good. We had lobster, king crab, snow crab and some add ons. The mild sauce was kind of spicy but I am a spicy food punk ☺. Service was average to good. The place was empty on a Thursday at 3pm when we were there.. Try it and let me know what your thoughts are.
The Cajun Trap Sauce.... almost no words on how bad it was. Not sure how to start on this review....
We ordered the peeled shrimp, mussels, and claims. I feel like the season itself was cooked very well. The sauce it was in was SO salty, I was a smoker for 20+ years and my taste for salt has diminished quite a bit. For me to say to was way too salty is saying a lot. Our server, super sweet about it (she is why I didn't give a 1 star for service) tried to help by diluting the salts with more butter and garlic. It help quite a bit but the salt and flavor really didn't sit well.
If anyone is a fan of Kickin Crab sauce, there is no comparison. Their well cooked seafood was wasted in this sauce. Such a shame. Rate: 3 of 10
Service people would walk by and ask us how it was, we said it was not good, there reaction was like they didn't know what to do. They just said, oh I'm sorry and walked away. Lol! 3 of them did that that was not our server. They didn't ask what could be done at all. If it wasn't for our main server it would be negative reviews for service. 10 of 10 to my server, 1 of 10 to everyone else.
We also ordered the calamari, typical battered frozen food. 7 of 10.
Frys, very crispy and fresh out the deep fryer, 9.5 of 10
Unfortunately, I would never go back here.
The sauce recipe needs to change. I left a lot of good seafood to waste.
There are plenty parking in front of the place.
We ordered some chicken wings and 2 combo. Would recommend their shrimp and shells because they are “easier” to eat. We fought with the lobster and crabs for some time.
The seafood was fresh and nice. If you are not comfortable with spicy food, definitely choose mild(still a little spicy) for your own good.
The flavoring is okay. My issue with the concept of putting the seafood boil on a tray versus keeping it in a bag is that it cools (gets cold) faster. Halfway into eating it, the tray was cold. The service was good and it’s a cute place but it’s no sans got crabs, snow crab or kickn crab
Randomly found this place and had to try it because I've desperately wanted a Cajun food style place near town. I ordered the $18.99 Octopus meal combo with Medium heat and the Trap sauce. Found it to be perfectly spicy and I enjoyed everything included (Sausage, Rice, Boiled Egg). My son ordered the Crawfish which he loved and we split an order of the Cajun fries. Staff was nice, helpful and friendly.
Only two things I'd change. With all the spicy food, it'd be nice to wash all this down with a cold beer. Secondly, add a few more Cajun dishes for more variety (i.e. Jambalaya, Seafood Gumbo, Shrimp Creole...etc.) Otherwise, great place.
Great place to get some amazong tasting seafood! Give it a try! You won’t be dissapointed, all food is on point ????
Today was a mix feelings day for my first and possibly last visit to the Cajun Trap…. For days I was very excited about the hype and the good things on social media…. We finally made it in today and we were left with a $115 bill and a bit disappointed. We ordered the $45 combo which includes 3 sides… ordered mussels, shrimp and sides potatoes (got a single tiny and very hard potato, corn on the cob which only had a piece of corn and sausage which came with a good portion ( 1 sausage) also ordered the octopus plate with 2 sides… again the potatoes (got a tiny and also hard potato) and an egg. Flavor was definitely there. Good and tasty… when it was time to dig in to the mussels we were in for a surprise… at least half of the mussels shells were empty. (To give credit some had fallen into the bag but some were just an empty shell.) when we looked at the menu, the drinks said no refills which we were surprised. When the waiter came around to check on how we liked our food i mentioned about the hard potato and how a single tiny potato would be considered a side and his response was that if i wanted more I could get an extra side of potatoes for an extra $2. Not an apology or at least to try to make things right. I also ordered the kids corn dog meal which had pieces of hot dog with a huge lump of batter. Overall I was very disappointed to get a $96 bill for such a bad experience. I did not complain or made a scene and just simply paid my bill and when the waiter asked me if I was going to come back I said probably not and he just stayed quiet and walked away. A lot of flavor and hype but definitely not worth $115.
