Best WLM Reviews
My best friend and I went here with just the idea of getting a quick lunch and heading out for a hike. Our plans changed quickly as we got extremely excited over the chef’s pairings menu they had. This was our first time wine tasting and it definitely got us in our wine era! The food was absolutely amazing, the wines were delicious and we even came home with a bottle each! They did mention they will be doing a different menu for every season! I cannot wait to go back over and over again!
This is the first time I had eaten here and I was so incredibly impressed!! It was hands down the absolute **best burger** I have ever eaten!! I have never had a burger that was so juicy, highly flavored, and literally melted in my mouth! The onion rings were also exceptional as they were very large and battered but had a very good ratio of onion to batter. The outdoor patio was simple and quaint and the waitress service enthusiastic and delightful! The lamb stew was also delicious with tender lamb, carrots, onions and potatoes. I cannot stress enough how worthwhile it is to go to this simple, no frills restaurant for their excellent Vera Earl beef! And Vera Earl is right next door so should you fall in love with the incredible meat like I did, you can go next door and buy some incredible beef that is humanely raised on excellent quality feed to take home!
Came here for lunch after wine tasting in the afternoon. My girlfriend had been here before (don't mix it up with the other "Cafe" a few doors down) and raved about the delicious food.
We were not disappointed. Great service; quaint, homey and comfortable decor; and the food was really good. We had a table of four people and ordered various things -- BLT on a croissant, Turkey Green Chili melt, Cheeseburger and finally what they referred to as the APE burger. ALL of it was great... the APE burger is a fun concept. You basically tell them what you like/dislike and the chef comes up with a special burger JUST for you. My husband likes spicy and traditional beef burger patty and basically told them nothing was off limits - just make it delicious. He said it was and it looked huge brimming with lots of toppings.
They also carry some local wines here -- one of our favorites being the Fluffer from Hops/Vines so we had a bottle of that as well.
I would come back here again for sure, soon.
Great lunch spot we stopped at in-between visiting the wineries nearby! Good service, nice patio area. We waited to stop here for lunch until mid-afternoon on the Sunday we visited because it looked very busy when we first drove by during the lunch hour. Glad we waited so that we didn't feel rushed to leave. Would love to stop here again the next time we visit.
We picked the wrong day to visit for lunch. We visited on Mother's Day. Many people made reservations, we did not. There is seating outside as well as inside, but was too windy for us. We got a table inside after a short wait and after a 30 minute wait, gave our order. We waited an hour for our burgers. They did bring drinks and refills often. The food was good, fries were pretty but soggy. The onion ring batter was tasty but cooked so long the onion was disintegrated. Burger had good flavor. I will try the restaurant again when it's not a major holiday.
I must admit, I was expecting The Cafe to be quite mediocre. Everything else was closed after we finished some wine tastings in the area, so we ended up here, and we were not disappointed. The $5 happy hour menu was great. Everyone's burgers were excellent, the quesadilla was terrific, and both the sweet potato and zucchini fries were very well done. In a very remote place, but if you're in the area, this is a good stop to make.
The jalapeno bacon cheeseburger is hot!!!the chipotle burger definitely has some kick to it also. I really like how the sweet potato fries are the same size as regular fries (instead of smaller and thinner at other many other places). It really improves the burger eating experience.
I also ate my first BLT on a croissant here. It was okay.
The thick-cut onion rings are really good and aren't stringy or gooey.
We ate here for a couple of reasons, 1) we we're hungry after visiting the Kartchner Caverns state park and 2) this place had good reviews on Yelp. It's a bit of a drive from the Caverns but worth it. We have no regrets.
Used to be good. Now service is slow and prices are ridiculous. Two wings for $6 cmon. PS I ordered a plate of wings and our waitress advised us it would be different than usual (some explanation about the transition to wine pairings) so yes I legit recieved two single wings on a plate for six dollars. You think im joking, but indeed, I received two wings on a plate and nothing more.
