Best WLM Reviews
Carne Adovada breakfast burrito is the best. I had mine smothered in delicious red chili and cheese but the filling is delicious on its own if you need it wrapped in foil to go.
Definitely worth a stop if you work nearby or are driving I-40.
Been coming here for 20 yrs green chile is so damn hot but good I do believe it is the best burrito in Albuquerque.
I'm used to hot food but this is a bit overkill. Ordered the roast beef stuffed sopa with green chile for work lunch, but I couldn't even eat it because it was so hot. My coworkers felt the same with their orders. I had to take it home and put smaller portions in a tortilla and add cheese to tame it down to be tolerable. If you like it so hot that your taste buds feel like they are gone, this is the place for you. I prefer to enjoy the flavor of chile though, so this is just way too hot for my taste. I may try it again but have the chile put entirely on the side. Great prices though! Wow for the prices and how much you get!
While visiting Albuquerque for the hot air balloon fest we stopped in at the Burrito Lady. We all liked our meal however it was on the spicy side for my husband and I but not for my brother. The flavor was very good but I could use more salt & it wasn't a big burrito, I could have eatten two. There's not much seating inside, I think I saw four chairs and a table so we sat outside which was set up for dinning. Nothing to complain about & if we were still in the area I think we'd order food again. If you haven't been here check it out.
Anyone that gave this place a 1 star doesn't know what they're reviewing. It's not fancy. They don't have fountain drinks but you can get a can of coke. The green chile is the hottest I've had in 23 years of living in ABQ. They put a lot, but it's a place for if you like it hot. Honestly don't go here if you're expecting a dining experience. Go here if you want fantastic home cooked style food that feels like you went over to your grandma's house. There's usually nowhere to sit, like at grandma's house. The customer service is like if you rolled by your grandma's house cause she makes amazing burritos and you just asked her out the blue to make you one. She's not trying to listen to the extra she's just trying to find out what you want in your burrito so she can start putting it together. Then she gives you the burrito and makes sure you handle it with care cause she wants to make sure you're fed with that good food. If you expect to get treated like royalty here, it ain't for you. The pots got black on the bottom like grandma's house, if that bothers you..it ain't for you. But if you want something thats going to make you feel at home with the first bite, there is nothing like The Burrito Lady. ???? ????❤️ also, as Consuela will tell you, if you pay with cash it'll make everything faster. ????
Definitely a great LOCAL SPOT TO CHECK OUT!!! If you are looking for a TRUE NEW MEXICO FOOD EXPERIENCE THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!! No matter what you order it's always a 10 out of 10!!! Don't believe me Stop on in for yourself.... And they are always so busy because...... the food is amazing so it's a good idea to call your food in ahead of time.....
The food here is SO good! I haven't had Mexican food this tasty and spicy in a long while. Even if there's a line, they'll get your food out quickly. They also make sure there is no cross contamination between meat and vegetarian food! This place is definitely a hidden gem.
I’m 30, grew up in ABQ and never really went to this place until recently. Always knew it was there, just had other dependable options I frequented I guess. But I wish I had started going sooner! It’s becoming one of my go-to’s, about once a week.
Some of the older reviews are pretty low, so maybe as of recent they’ve taken suggestions and done things to fix concerns. But I doubt it, because what they’ve been doing has worked for them for a long time. It’s an odd spot for a restaurant for sure, it’s like walking into Consuelo’s living room in an ‘80s NE Heights home. But give it a chance!
All I can speak for are the bacon breakfast burritos because that’s all I get. They are delicious! It’s so uniquely made and how everything is cooked, and tasty! Almost like it comes from a well-seasoned pan with the flavor of thousands burritos past. Well-cooked potatoes and crispy-burnt bacon, how I like it. Made more like a big breakfast taco. The chile is always hot so beware! But flavorful. I’ve had the red & green; At this place, green happens to be my favorite and go-to. The basic burritos are a normal size for a fair price, but I like to order mine with extra egg, extra bacon. The menu is big, but I’m just not interested really in trying anything else. Don’t go to a burger joint and order tacos, it’s called *Burrito* Lady.
The first few times I came in, I stood in line for a while, and it took even longer using a card to pay. Seemed like the regulars called in orders ahead and used cash. So I started doing the same thing, in and out in >5 minutes. There are spots for dine-in, but the atmosphere is odd for a restaurant, and personally I’d rather eat in my truck or elsewhere.
It’s an old school spot, with old school ways. But the line out the door during peak hours should speak for itself. Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke, it works for them and I think the bacon breakfast burritos are uniquely delicious.
