Best WLM Reviews

We went for Mother's Day Brunch. But, we've been to brunch at the Buck Hotel several times. Food is very good, I drank the Bloody Mary for the first time today and it was delicious. The front desk & wait staff are very nice and the food very good. Can't wait to go back!
The patio is the BEST place to sit at the Buck Hotel. My friend and I arrived at 12pm for our reservation and it was only us and one more table. By the time we left, the restaurant was packed. It was beautiful. The food was delicious. The French Onion Soup, delicious. The oysters. The Buck Bloody Mary, the Buck Burger and the crab/egg benedict all delicious. The service was amazing. Would recommend the Buck Hotel to everyone.
I really wish The Buck Hotel would reinvent themselves.Twenty years ago this was considered a high-end restaurant. and to eat here you had to have a little bit of paper in your pocket today things are much different. There is no dress code. It’s more of a family restaurant than a luxury high-end restaurant. The menu has a lot to be desired. Most dinner entrées are reasonably priced around $20-30. But then adding a lobster tail is $50 Which doesn’t really make sense.
I had grilled swordfish with asparagus and I added a lobster tail. The asparagus was delicious very fresh and had good taste but the swordfish was dry and the lobster tail. It is an African tail but it’s tiny charge $50 is a little ridiculous. One other thing to notate when ordering dessert, the waitresses like to bring around the dessert cart, which in my opinion is unsanitary and pretty gross. Some of the desserts on the dessert tray look like they’ve been sitting there for six months a dessert menu works just fine.
The staff here, while the front of the house is very attentive my waitress Emily was pretty much MIA the whole dinner. Sure she would stop by and apologize for her lack of service and then disappear again in my opinion, a waitress like that needs to be terminated because clearly she can’t has other things that are more important than her customers and when you’re spending this kind of money to eat, dinner service should be outstanding !!!
Overall, our experience here is mixed, The Buck Hotel gives an inviting, feeling that makes you want to come back not every restaurant will make you feel like that. when you’re spending $350 to eat dinner I expect the highest quality food and the most amazing service that you can get in a restaurant, but if you’re staff is not willing, then it’s kind of pointless to come back here again there are many other high-end restaurants in Philadelphia that can give you that high-end restaurant experience !!
Been here for dinners, wanted to go back for the burgers, simply amazing. Always a positive experience!!!!
The shrimp tacos is definitely worth getting.
I have been coming here for years now. It's a stable of the area and a truly wonderful place. The servers are as friendly as can be and truly bend over backwards to make your dining experience good. I bring my grandfather and they have been nothing but helpful and accommodating. I have had their crab, lobster, steak and everything else and It has always been a 5 star meal.
We went to the comedy show on the Friday it snowed. I was surprised how many people came, but definitely worth it. Show was great & so we're all the people who worked the buffet. Great atmosphere & a good place to meet new friends. ????
Unfortunately, the overall experience didn't match up with the pricing. We did Mother's day dinner with their specific mother's day menu for reference. The service was mediocre (waitress was good though) we had to ask a couple times to remove old dishes and empty food platters. The food wasn't as good as you'd hope. It was good, but not at their price point in my opinion. The steak was also decent but not for $50+. The best stuff there was the dessert. Overall, I most likely won't return but glad I was able to experience it.
We stopped in for happy hour and they had mussels for $5 , so we ordered a cup of broccoli soup a small Cesar salad a order of mussels Marinara and a order of pesto mussels. The soup was delicious tge Cesar salad needed more dressing and I didn't see our server until the mussels came out by that time I was done with the salad. The Marinara sauce was really good and the amount of mussels you get are well worth the $5. The pesto sauce was somewhat not present, as I like to use my mussel shell like a spoon and get some sauce with each mussel. I was unable to do that with the pesto however their was alot of Marinara sauce. Great value for a happy hour.
