We were traveling through the area and stopped in on a Monday evening. Not many other places were open. The bar seating was full and we were put on a waitlist for a table. A couple tables were empty but we just hung by the bar until we were called for a table. Our server noted that there had just been a rush. She had obviously been hustling. The food was fine. It was a sports bar -type atmosphere. The location seemed like it would have been cool - tucked back in an alley.
Kind staff, delicious food! It was a busy St. Paddy’s weekend, and the food still came out in a timely manner. We had the spinach artichoke dip and fish tacos. The tater tots are so crispy, and not greasy tasting! Yum
Was looking for a place for a late lunch and found The Brickyard. Unless you like fast food or chains, there's not many places open on a Monday. Glad The Brickyard was open.
Upon entering we thought the place was actually closed. No one else there other than the restaurant workers. We were seated and the server took our orders. I like a Blue Moon as an adult beverage whenever I eat lunch out but was told it wasn't available. Instead our server suggested a local White Ale from New Trail Brewing that was similar. Not sure how it would taste, I requested a sampler and once it came I went for a full glass. It was great!
While we waited, we snacked on an order of the baked pretzel bites with beer cheese and a dipping mustard. Let me tell you that mustard was spicy! Like an accidental spill of too much horseradish or wasabi. We like spice but this was over the top. Went right up the nose and brought tears to the eyes. We couldn't finish half of it. The beer cheese, however, was quite tasty. I could have eaten a bowl of it.
Our main orders arrived. I asked for the Brickyard Rachel. It was delicious. My hubby got the Steakhouse burger with NO cheese. Our server even confirmed it back to him - no cheese. But guess what was melting down his burger patty when it arrived. Yup. Back it went.
Fresh cut fries for both our meals were quite good. Hubby's burger, once it came back sans cheese, was cooked to his liking and very filling. So much so that he brought half of it home.
Place was clean and service great, other than the order misunderstanding. Prices very reasonable.
In from New Hampshire, what an amazing find down this alley. Super delicious food, staff was awesome. I would definitely come back here again if I'm ever in the area!
Great service and I really liked the vibe of the place. I tried an appetizer and it was delicious. The black bean burger was good
Unbelievable food. We've been thinking about it every day since we were there. Seriously. If you love cheese, comfort food, seasoned fries, and delicous burgers, you HAVE TO check out the Brickyard! SB: rumor is the owner has a nearby diner that hires those in need of a second chance, also. Patronize local establishments that invest in your community! We will be back soon!
This restaurant has a great vibe. There are interesting decorations, a nice selection of beers, and lots of screens playing the latest sports events happening.
The Pork Tomahawk was super tasty, we loved the Gouda Mac & Cheese that came with it. The Chicken Pot Pie was also quite good; It came PIPING hot with a perfectly buttered crust and a pleasantly acidic flavor profile (probably a better choice in the winter!).
Some minor gripes-The glaze on some of the shrimp was more on the burnt side, and the crab cakes didn't come with any lemon to cut the richness.
We were waiting for our food for a good 30min, plus another 15min to get our card and check back; It was a busier Sunday so your mileage may vary.
Overall: super nice wait staff and a great ambiance. Would definitely give this one another shot next time we're in town
Great food and even better service. They will have a dining option for everyone. The staff is super friendly and the service is top notch. I have never had a bad meal here. Friends from out of town regularly request eating here when they visit!
