What a gem of a place. I was in town for a service call. Stumbled upon this awesome restaurant. Best snow crabs ever, amazing service. Strawberry butter is unreal. The homemade key lime pie was so fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant. They are on the water and have outdoor seating. The ambience is so nice.

Don't pay any mind to the review by Barry Brooks. I was there at the same time and he seemed to be determined not to like the place. We love The Boathouse and will be back for many more experiences. Boom Boom shrimp, coconut chicken & and blackened fish tacos were outstanding!! Thank you Ashley for your wonderful service. :)
I have been here multiple times and have tried many dishes from brunch to dinner. Every item I have ordered has been flavored and cooked to perfection! The staff is all so attentive. Courtney has always recommended really great dishes and given top notch service every time! Great place with great music on the weekends and a great view every day! Highly recommended!

We are a native here and the first time ordering and eating their take out food. Ordered food last Saturday on December 10, 2022. Ordered their The Grouper, two Lobster tails, Crab Cakes, Hush Puppies, Oyster Rockefeller, and the Gator bites. The Grouper fish was good, but was heavily breaded. The two Lobster tails were mediocre and we didn't expect to dig out the intestinal track from the tail of the lobster. You can clearly see the poop inside the intestinal in the pictures I have provided. Of all the places I've ordered Lobster Tail from I've never had to take out the intestinal poop from the tail of the lobster. When my husband called to inquire about that the lady who works there told him she was unfamiliar on how they serve lobster tail, then said it was safe to eat.
The bread on the Hush Puppies were so heavily greasy that I couldn't eat but one Hush Puppy because all I could taste was the disgusting grease. The Hush Puppies were not enjoyable. The Crab Cakes had crab shells that my husband had to keep picking out of his mouth. There should not have been shell inside the crab meat.
The only semi enjoyable part of this $100+ meal was the Oyster Rockefeller, which also had a small piece of plastic inside of them (which I have provided a picture of). I had to pull that hard piece of plastic from my mouth.

First time here , the food, the drinks, everything was great the server Robert was fabulous, I order the gumbo , and fish tacos, my son the stuffed flounder . Food. Was just great next time I’m on the area , we are definitely coming back !!!
This dining experience has been nothing short of awesome. I was greeted with a smile as soon as i walked in. I was allowed to sit outside even though it was 60°. Coutnie was my server and was the best. Smiling, friendly and willing to answer all my touristy questions. The gator bites, my first try of them, were delicious. The broiled seafood platter was cooked perfection. The warm pecan pie for dessert was the absolute best finisher. If youre coming through the area make sure this place is on your list of eateries to visit. Tell "mama" i said hello.
Here is a great example of how ALL restaurants in the climate that will permit it, should be. Starting with the entrance, there is a nice large sitting area next to the front door for nights when there are waits. No one likes standing around for 30 minutes for a table to open up butt sitting is much better. The inside has a good vibe of a relaxed atmosphere and a steady mood. The bar area is set up perfectly with enough room for drinking and eating all without being cramped. The outside seating is definitely the highlight of the venue. Its ambiance is very warm and comforting. Their food is 5 stars as I dined with a large group so we tried almost everything. It was ALL delicious. Perfectly cooked, well prepared, and served in a timely manner to give you the best food. I highly recommend this venue if you're visiting the Helen GA area.
