My husband, two kids, and I stopped to eat dinner this evening. It was our first and last time here. There was no air conditioning, flies absolutely EVERYWHERE. The service was HORRIBLE. After waiting for awhile to be served, and looking at the menu we decided to order an appetizer only and get out of there as soon as we could. Our waitress never came back after getting our drinks, our nachos were ice cold, and honestly tasted terrible. We waited for our check for a good 15 minutes, and I was about to lay some money on the table and just leave, but she finally came with the check. It was honestly one of the worst dinning experiences we’ve ever had. It’s not family friendly, overpriced, and the food was not worth any amount of money. I have never wrote a review of a restaurant before, but there’s no way I could not write one this time.
Just finishing a weekend in Birds Eye for a bachelor party and we were at the Nest two nights in a row. Great place, great food and good drinks. Karaoke was great as well. Despite being short staffed, the service was great and the lady behind the bar was on it! They made it feel like they were fully staffed and ready to go.
Actually planning another trip back soon!

Hubby and I ate here on Thursday, July 15 about 4:30 PM - were seated promptly, drink and food orders were taken as we were seated. Both of us ordered the daily special - patty melt with fries - and an order of fried pickles. I requested an order of coleslaw. Food was excellent, loved the waffle fries. Wait staff made a fresh batch of coleslaw for me. Drinks and food were priced as expected for bar food. HOWEVER, the coleslaw was WAY overpriced - $3.99 for about 4 ounces (1/2 cup). Unacceptable!!!!!
Bennys down the road was way better and better service. Hands down I will not be back to this place. I was really disappointed with this place. We get there waited 10 minutes before we were approached by any servers and they were not busy at all. We ordered drinking and I asked about the jalapeño poppers if they had cream cheese or cheddar they said cream. I get them it was cheddar so we sent it back. Get the taco salad and asked for beef. Came out with no beef at all. So we had to wait again for some server to even walk out to the side deck to even ask for a side of beef. Had to request refills and I honestly just wanted to leave after the first incident. They didn’t offer to fix it or anything.
My family didn't have a great experience at this restaurant. Flies were swarming us and the food was bland. The pork tenderloin tasted like absolutely nothing and the steak tasted like it wasn't seasoned at all. The only slightly redeemable part was the fries, which were nice and crisp. Other than that, the food kind of sucked.
We were at Patoka for camping and boating and saw the sign so decided to give it a try. We walked in and were immediately greeted with an eye roll by the employee eating at the bar, I thought "Great this should be fun", she told us we could sit where we wanted and went back to eating. We chose a seat on the patio and out walked the most upbeat, friendly, funny waitress. She was very personable while taking our order, food came out super fast delivered by another girl that was friendly as well. A minor hiccup with my order (waffle fries instead of onion rings but it probably happened since we were all chatting with our server while we ordered) and within 5 minutes I had scalding hot onion rings on my table (BTW I tasted the waffle fries...mmmmm). She kept our drinks filled and checked on us often. I think that was one of the best tenderloins I've ever had, they kept it just thick enough to not dry it out and it was flavored perfectly, the onion rings were also super crispy. The shrimp appetizer was delicious, my husband said the wings were good too (his wife is writing this review for him lol) , no one had any complaints at all. After thinking we were going to regret this, our server turned it all around and it was a great experience. Definitely worth the stop!
I apologize for not remembering her name but it was about 6:30/7:00 on 7/18/2021, 4 adults two kids, we were literally one of the only tables there so we might be easy to find off CC receipts, she deserves some credit!
I love what they've done to this place to provide such a fun yet relaxing atmosphere. The new patio is a great place to enjoy a safe meal, and the breaded tenderloin is always top notch. If you want to socialize, the patio also has a nice fire pit for some good conversation even in the colder weather and karaoke is always a good time. Service has always been prompt and friendly and the bartenders always have a kind smile for you, which is what I think sets this place apart.
I know times are hard and we where prepared for that and to wait a little longer. The waitress didn't care at all. We ordered our drinks and waited 15 mins when she finally came back to the table she got our order but no drinks! After we finally got our drinks they all went empty and the food took for ever. Our drink orders didn't come out right and neither did our food. Other waiters had to come out to make sure we where OK. Even the check took forever to come out and it was very expensive for the quality. I would give less stars but not possible. We will not be coming back!! While we where waiting on our food we seen 2 other tables get up and walk out
