Saturday lunch and we had the eating area to ourselves. But lots of carry out activity during our visit. Both got combo plates and can of soda for $11 each. Great value. Couldn't tell you the proper names, but the vegetables with bitter melon, the pork one, and the squid one was very good. Also got some baked goods. Parking was limited.
Got almost all the bakery goods here. Hopia, pan de coco, egg rolls, and beef empanadas.
Price is reasonable. Would definitely come back here for Filipino food.
Opportunist, exploitative, are a couple of words I can think of to describe this place. Not the cleanest place for a cooked food store either. I'm only patronizing it because Manila Fiesta closed! THIS PLACE PRACTICES PRICE GOUGING! Yesterday, I called to order lechon. The lady told me it's $70 for the full tray and $35 for the half tray. However, she couldn't take my order because she was busy with another customer who was in the store, she told me to call back. I called back today, a different person answered the phone. She didn't know the answers to my questions, she was screaming the questions to another person in the store (unprofessional). She then came back to the line and said they don't sell by half trays. I told her, I was told yesterday that you do!. Then she screamed to the person again... She then came back to my line and said, it will be $45 for the half tray! What on earth!?!?! Kabayan, that's just not a very smart business practice! Do you expect your customers to haggle prices? SET YOUR PRICE AND STICK WITH IT! This is the United States! Wala ka na sa Divisoria! You just lost a customer!
Very cute Filipino buffet. A little chilly on the inside to bring a sweater but the delicious food is worth it ????
Very good Filipino food. A little bit far from Chicago where I live but is worth the drive. Food are constantly replenished so they are hot. The desserts are real Filipino treats. The price is reasonable. They have a small take out bakery too. Will return here for sure.
I love this place. The empanadas are delicious--crust and filling are on point! The turon is also really good. Corned beef pandesal and sio pao are great. When they have sesame balls (buchi?) get some! Highly recommend.
I'm from New York and moved to Chicagoland. I've tried many authentic Filipino restaurants and The Bakehouse in Glendale Heights stands out! Great food, reasonable price, very nice and friendly staff. The owner is equally nice and sweet! We always order party trays here when we have special occasions. ????????????
Excellent Filipino food. We always order a tray of lumpia, bbq skewers, and cake from there. Our friends say their lumpia is the best they’ve ever had. The people who work there are super friendly. I highly recommend them.
