I am in town on business and The 278 Restaurant was recommended as a great place to stop in for lunch. The recommendation was spot on - the food was fantastic. The Club Sandwich isn't your traditional stacks of deli meat, it's actually thick home cooked turkey, and it is very good.
"Ask for the cute blonde" is what we were told, so ask for Theresa (owner) or her daughter, Haley. They will take care of you.
This business treated my father with an immense amount of disrespect. He waited over an hour for his meal which never came. He wanted to cancel his order and pay for his drinks but he was met with screams from the manager and was told to never come back. He still wanted to pay for his drink, but they told him that they “didn’t want his money”.
Very sad to hear this type of behavior from a business in 2024. Hope they learn from this. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I met a group of family members for breakfast and we had great food, our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We were not rushed but allowed to fellowship and enjoy our visit!
The hot burger and fried pickles are delicious ???? but the catfish was not to my liking (very muddy tasting). I couldn't eat it. Would eat here again. I would just avoid the fish.
This establishment will never get my business again due to the fact of how they treat people. I hope they have to shut their doors for the way that they treat people a man came in to get his order and then he waited over an hour and then asked if he could cancel when he then was screamed at. I will never recommend this place to anyone
Staff is friendly. Food was hot & delicious. Good place to get meat & veggie plate. Next we're trying breakfast!
Meatloaf was like eating plain garlic topped with 3 inches of ketchup, slaw was bitter mac and cheese was dry fried green tomatoes ok,
OOMMGG the biscuits and gravy here!!! Service was outstanding, very attentive and super friendly staff. We were just there catching up (old friends) and had coffee and the biscuits and gravy, but they were super cool about us lurking for a couple hours! Price was very reasonable, too! If I’m ever back in Alabama, I’ll be stopping by again.
