Best WLM Reviews

Food was absolutely DIVINE, fresh, seasoned to perfection! I had to order some stew and white (not pictured) and it tasted like my mama made it! The owner is super friendly and her employees were attentive and sweet! Prepare to wait but trust me it is worth the wait! The food and ambience definitely filled my appetite of getting a small taste of Nigeria! Best Nigerian food in Tampa HANDS DOWN!
They have the best equsi soup in Tampa but also take the longest to prepare from all the other restaurants that serve the soups. It use to take 45mins now its up to an hour wait. I drive almost an hour craving their Nigerian delicious ???? food. I really liked going to them every single month after my doctors appointment, but I was sold cold food that tasted like it was warmed up.and I know it was warmed up because I would come every single month. The chicken was really tough and me and my sister was very disappointed because they do have the best equsi soup in Tampa. They did replace our food with a fresh order but by the time we got it, we were no longer hungry. I think they can do a lot better if they were a lil faster in the kitchen or have somethings pre done while still being hot and not left over from yesterday or day before. That’s what confused me when they say they cook their food to order. I still say they have the best equsi soup and pounded yams. I’m just scared to waste my money on the chicken again. The chicken use to be really juicy and falling off the bone now it’s just too tough to eat. I really wanted some last month but was pushing for time when they said it would be an hour wait. Ugh ???? also when that girl that take orders seem like she don’t like working there. It’s always no excitement to take our orders it’s like she always have an attitude until we pick up our food. My opinion to that is I think someone else should take the orders. I be ready just to cancel my whole order. But the equsi is like crack I just gotta have it. I LOVE THE MANAGER. She is so sweet and know how to run her business. I wish she was there when I come. I rather ordering from her and if I dine she make sure our experience is very much enjoyed. Great food best one in Tampa no one else have yet to tip them.
I ate here once because I wanted to try african food for the 1st time. I got the Egusi and the meat was TUFF I couldn't finish it...I didn't find the soup to be all that flavorful, but figured maybe that's just how it is. I tried Egusi somewhere else and realized no theirs was just not good unfortunately.
"My recent visit to TFK African Restaurant was a delightful culinary journey. The moment I stepped in, I was enveloped by the warm and inviting ambiance, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
I decided to indulge in their jollof rice with grilled chicken, a classic dish that never fails to impress. The jollof rice was perfectly cooked, with each grain infused with a rich tomato-based sauce and aromatic spices. The grilled chicken was tender and flavorful, complementing the rice beautifully.
I also tried the egusi soup with fufu, a dish that exceeded all expectations. The egusi soup was thick and hearty, with a wonderful blend of flavors from the ground melon seeds and assorted meats. The fufu was the perfect accompaniment, providing a comforting and satisfying meal.
The service at TFK African Restaurant was impeccable, with the staff ensuring that every need was met promptly and courteously. The owner's passion for African cuisine was evident in every aspect of the dining experience, from the food to the ambiance.
Overall, TFK African Restaurant is a hidden gem that deserves to be discovered. If you're looking for delicious, authentic African cuisine served with a side of hospitality, look no further than TFK African Restaurant."
I’m grateful that they took my order although they were about to close. However, I regret not being more mindful of the reviews. I ordered the Egusi and while the dish was flavorful the goat ???? was soooooooooooo tough. Although the food had a lot of potential, I wouldn’t dare give them a try again since tough meat seems to be a reoccurring trend.
Best. Nigerian. Food. Ever, hands down!
To all the people giving the lousy ratings, stop making it up, you know it’s good!
The Jollof was the best i’ve had in forever, not soggy, not dry, just right! The goat was very tender, and the lady was very very nice.
Highly recommend for those traveling around the Tampa area. It will be worth your while!
Found my new lunch spot!! I've been in Florida about 2 years now and would wait until I traveled to NY for the holidays to get nigerian food because there's not many good ones over here but this one hit home. I got egusi soup with the 2 beef and fish with poundo and it was so good I ate it in the parking lot didn't even make it home smh. Only thing is I wish it was spicier but I probably should've said that over the phone. For those saying that it is over priced for the serving you receive I believe it is enough for one person. As for the price everything has gone up because of covid especially the price of meat if you cook you would realize that and I would rather quality over quantity anyway. Its like this in ALL restaurants. Also some of these reviews on here/yelp are misleading nigeran food isn't for everyone's taste and it is disrespectful to insult our culture. Research before trying something you know you won't like. This business is awesome keep doing yall thing!
"I recently had the pleasure of dining at TFK African Restaurant, and it was truly an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The decor was beautiful, with African-inspired artwork and music playing softly in the background.
The menu offered a wide variety of authentic African dishes, and we decided to try the jollof rice with grilled chicken and the egusi soup with fufu. The food was absolutely delicious, with rich flavors and generous portions. Each dish was beautifully presented, and it was evident that great care was taken in the preparation.
The staff at TFK African Restaurant were attentive and knowledgeable, and they went out of their way to ensure that we had a memorable dining experience. The owner even took the time to come to our table and chat with us, which added a personal touch to our visit.
Overall, I would highly recommend TFK African Restaurant to anyone looking for a unique and flavorful dining experience. The food, service, and ambiance were all top-notch, and I can't wait to visit again!"
