Delicious! Really hit the spot. Must stop before and or after the Spam Museum.
Wandered into Austin ostensibly to see the SPAM museum (random, abrupt exit from I-80) but left Austin entranced and pleased that places like Tendermaid still exist in our increasingly place-less landscape. The burger was unique (messy!) and delicious; the hard-ice cream shake (chocolate — the gold standard, made with Hershey’s syrup!) a throwback to my kitchen. But the warm welcome and history lesson from the busy staff sealed the deal. I will make the pilgrimage again if/when I pass by on the interstate. Look for Wheaton College types to stop in on their return trip!
Unique local place and the sandwich was very affordable! The mother daughter team are sweet as can be. Really enjoyed chatting with them about life in Austin.
I asked "what's the best", they delivered. They took the time to describe their menu, some of the history, and made-to-order one of the best lunches I've had. Highly recommend!
These lady’s and their healthy sandwich’s are amazing. They are so friendly we really wish that we lived in the area. We visited on our multiple state motorcycle road trip and the staff was amazing and helpful as well as very knowledgeable. Thanks for the great memories. Thanks for making even Cha Cha part of the family.
Quaint throwback to the 50's. Delicious burgers better eaten with a spoon! It's crumbled beef, with many scrumptious fixings! You can also attempt the Tendermaid challenge: eat 30....yes, 30 cheeseburgers, 84oz of water, a bag of chips and a malt in under 26 minutes!! Best of luck!
The food was great. Had a bacon ranch burger. My daughter had loaded nachos. She loved them. And the shakes were amazing, older fashion and thick. Price is reasonable.
Great food, but even better service. The kindest women who gave us excellent recommendations of other places to eat in town. A must stop when you’re visiting Austin.
