Best WLM Reviews

By far some of the worst drivers in Ithaca and it’s literally terrifying they’re driving some of the biggest vehicles in the city, not to mention I don’t think I’ve met any tcat employee who was nice, a bunch of complete jerks through and through, Ithaca needs a different transportation company aready!
Of any public transport company I’ve had experience with, Tcat has been by far the worst. Drivers are always late if they can even be bothered to show up at all. Too many times have I been stranded and forced to walk an ungodly long distance in the biting cold because the bus just didn’t show up. Adding insult to injury, the drivers (when they do show up) are frequently unfriendly and mean. The only good thing I have to say is that the seats are fairly comfortable but that doesn’t make up for what is ultimately a failure of a bus service. I wish there was an alternative, because I’d definitely take it if there was
I have never had trouble with drivers or buses being beyond 5 minutes late, the buses will get you from A to B.
The unfortunate thing is I have encountered problems on their website every time I've used it. I've tried purchasing fare and recharging cards and I'm stopped at every turn by error messages.
The site never takes my password so I have to reset it to the same thing to gain access. If Im lucky and make it to the PayPal screen when purchasing fair I make the purchase and then get a cancellation error.
If the website advertises riders being able to buy passed and charge cards online, I would appreciate actually being able to do so.
Awful service. Quite a few times the buses will be late or just get cancelled suddenly without notice (there are generally 2-3 buses for a route so it will come, eventually). If you study at Cornell and live in downtown, as I do, you need to take a bus pass to go up the hill. So I mostly only use the 10 which is also the shortest route. Tcat manages to screw even this up. I've missed or been late to quite a few classes because of this. I suggest you don't buy a pass if you can get by.
It's ok. Wish I could rate better because most of the drivers are great...friendly and close to on time.
However, scheduled routes too frequently never show up. Maybe there aren't enough drivers, but why don't they just change the posted schedule for reflect that? I'd rather a bus that is scheduled to come every 30 min than one that's supposed to come every 15 but randomly skips.
Amazingly Great! I have been to so many countries but the city bus service here in Ithaca deserves 10/10. The buses are very well maintained and very neat and clean, the drivers are very cooperative and helpful and are ready with a reply to your question with a broad smile on their face ????
The TCAT buses are one of the best ways to get around Ithaca, especially around downtown Ithaca and Cornell University. They are well run, and many of the bus drivers are so helpful and understanding. Beware though, they don't always run to schedule and my personal experience has been they are late when you are at the stop early and depart early when you are even 1 min late.
With the exception of a few disgruntled drivers, TCat personnel have all been extremely kind and helpful considering the amount of ridiculous college students they have to endure daily. I've had several drivers call ahead to another bus route to ask another driver to wait for me on the transfer. I also once lost my wallet on one of the buses and the next driver who's bus I boarded called dispatch and located my wallet before she drove the bus directly to the TCat office where I picked it up. Most recently, a driver offered me one of his personal belongings for self protection on my walk home through a wooded area since my usual bus route home had already ended for the night.
