Yummy Airport Eatery! I ordered a pork Banh Mi sandwich with an order of egg rolls, both were beyond my expectations for airport food. The staff was helpful and food came out quick. Would definitely recommend this place!
I realized the Amex escape lounge at OAK airport is all the way down to gate 8, so instead I walked by Tay Ho and I saw people eating chicken pho and vermicelli noodles! So I couldn’t resist trying the food. Im impressed with how authentic the vermicelli bowl or the pho is. This is a place to come if you need to satisfy your Asian cravings before the flight or need a bowl of pho to cure your hangover! FYI- chicken is not burnt, it’s juicy and delicious! Oh and for the sauces.. they have both siracha and oyster sauce. The bowl came with the fish sauce to drizzle for extra flavors
Big fan of your downtown location (hi Denise!).
Grilled pork vermicelli bowl on point and plenty of crunchy veggies and nuts. A delicious and light meal before a flight.
Ordered a breakfast Bahn mi with egg in it. Was super early and they didn't have the regular ones. I was pleasantly surprised that it was a lot better than expected. Never thought of egg before, but the bread was fresh and the pickled veggies complimented the egg well. Order was fast and easy, table seating was available and clean. Not bad for airport food.
This is the first time I’ve been happy about a delayed flight! I love Tay Ho restaurant and was excited to learn about their airport location, but I honestly didn’t think I’d ever get the chance to try it since I’m usually just going out/coming in to my home airport. The quality is not as good as their restaurant, but the quality is good and better than most airport fast food! It definitely hit the spot and I’d have it again!
They also have banh mi which is even more ideal for food on the go!
For airport food, it’s good! The meat is tasty (the pork in particular is well flavored) and generally the vegetables seem fresh. I normally opt for the vermicelli bowl which is pretty consistent (and it’s easier to stomach paying $20 for a vermicelli bowl vs a bahn mi)
I’ve eaten here a few times mostly because it is next to my departing gate. The breakfasts are pretty horrible. The noodles can be good but avoid adding meat. They really know how to ruin meat. Today I had the vermicelli noodle salad with lemon chicken. The noodles were good but the chicken was burned, overcooked and so dried out it was like trying to eat wood chips. They also do not bus nor clean the tables. You have to do that before you sit down.
This was quite delicious and a good value. Could not finish my serving. Well prepared meat, excellent noodles; everyone seems happy. A nice find for an airport. The picture is what was leftover when I was full! The crew is nice and seems happy, another plus!
