Best WLM Reviews
If you like central European cuisine this place is a must try! The owner is a great guy, friendly and knowledgeable about all the items on the menu (the family do everything so that's understandable). We tried the Goulash, Jaeger schnitzel, soup, desserts and the Czech beer. Everything was perfect! The only thing that would have been better is if they were open the next day so I could try more of the menu... Next time I guess. Very highly recommended!
I absolutely love German style of food. So whenever I see a restaurant like this I will always go :). I got the pork JAGERSCHNITZEL!! It was so good! The breading was the perfect amount it was cooked absolutely perfect. The gravy was to die for! Everything about this place was on point! Super cozy inside. If I would have had time on my trip I would have came back. They also have excellent water!
We stumbled on this cozy place almost by accident when cruising California. And it was a BLAST! Being from ???????? I can guarantee this food is fantastic, super authentic and prepared with love and care. Go for pork schnitzel with potato salad, and wash it down with a perfectly served ???????? beer. Richard and Lenka, thanks for the treat, and keep up this place the perfect welcoming sanctuary. Great job!
This place was incredible! The ambiance was very cute and decorated fantastically. The food and drinks were perfect. We had recently taken a trip to Germany and Austria and were looking for this kind of food. It did not disappoint by any means. Felt like we were back in Europe!
The jägerschnitzel (mushroom cream sauce on schnitzel) was to die for. The red cabbage was some of the best I’ve ever had. The spätzle was different than we expected, but was REALLY good (might be a Czech version as the owners are from Czech Republic). The goulash was super tasty and we were happy to see that on the menu. Beer and gluhwein went perfectly with the meal. After we didn’t think we could eat any more, our server (the wife of the couple that owns it) told us she made it fresh that day. I couldn’t turn it down and I’m glad I didn’t because it was incredible.
The service was great and the husband and wife that own it came around to check on us and to see how everything was. They were very sweet and friendly and we enjoyed our brief chat with them.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! We will be back in the future for sure! Thank you!!
Brought my daughter here for her 16th birthday, they doted on us the whole time and was above and beyond the kindest people. The portions were huge and they were very delicious! Thank you
Everything was amazing about this place. The food: stroganoff (gnocchi), schnitzel and strudel. Service was friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was authentic.
Prices a little on the steep side, but portions more than make up for that.
Best food I've had in a longgg time
If you're curious about this place at all - definitely give it a try. My boyfriend and I finally decided to check out Taste of Tahoe - mostly because I have a thing for salad bars - but we ordered the fried mushroom/cauliflower combo, spaghetti and meatballs and the pork jagerschnitzel. Everything we had was a 10/10. There was only one person working in the dining room so we kinda settled in, expecting the food to take awhile, but everything came out quickly and was delicious.
The portions are huge and we both saved our left overs for lunch the next day. I almost liked mine even better the next day! Anyway, the only thing I was a little sad about was the soup/salad bar. We were told some items had been removed and what was left wasn't that appealing to me, but the price of the salad bar was lowered to make up for that which was nice. I was happy to have gotten to try an appetizer instead.
If you had been to TEPs, the ambiance and decor did not change much, but we liked that it hadn't. I'd say, maybe it felt a little chilly in there - but there's tables next to a fireplace if you can snag those.
Most delicious and authentic food, tasted like home! Staff was great and super friendly and the atmosphere was amazing as well. Definitely coming back!!
