I’ve tried Jamaican food from so many places in Chicago and so far, this is the best I’ve had. I drove 30 minutes from the city to this location and as you can see from the pictures, it was totally worth it. Food was fresh and delicious. I had the beef patty and combination plate (with oxtail, jerk chicken and extra plantains). The oxtail was nice and tender, the jerk chicken was tasty and delicious, not dry at all. I’m personally not a fan of overripe plantain but the overall experience was good. The rice and peas was very tasty, not dry at all and the beef patty was good. The food was also hot and ready upon pickup. 10/10 recommend! I’ll definitely be back.

Food was amazing. I got the jerk chicken, it was spicy, smoky, and juicy. The lady was very nice, I arrived before they opened and she still let me in - I knew the wait would be worth it. Make sure you check this place out next time you’re in the Lakeview area.
We were greeted the every moment we entered this business, the gentleman was welcoming and took our order with precision. When you enter the restaurant you will see beautiful and abundant plants cascading the foyer I eat from anyone who can take care of plants. I would with a shadow of a doubt recommend this place for authentic flavors. I will patronize this place again, again, again etc. #customerservice????????????????????????????????????????
I placed a take out order over the phone. The woman who took my order and was at the counter when I picked up was really pissed off, and also (maybe purposefully) messed up the order. First I ordered goat curry. Then I tried to order a side of fried plantains, and she said, “It comes with plantains.” I said, “The goat curry comes with plantains?”. She then was like, “EVERY ENTRE COMES WITH PLANTAINS!”. I don’t know why she was so mad, I was totally polite. Just trying to order food. Then when I got home and opened up the box, THERE WAS ONLY ONE PLANTAIN. I think the only reasonable explanation is she told them to put one plantain just to spite me. But why? Not once did I say anything mean. I just ordered my food, asked a few questions about the food while I ordered, and then picked up the food. And by the way, she was angry when I picked up the food too. Like what did I do to you? Take your money elsewhere.
My favorite Authentic Jamaican Food. Drive 1hr just to get Jamaican. Customer service is great! Plates are meaty. Stew Fish w/Red Beans and Rice and Cabbage & Brown Stew Chicken. The best! ❤️
Note to self. Only take out so we did not eat here. The menu looked good. Maybe next time. The restaurant is in Evanston. Right across the street is Chicago where you can use the Chicago park app?
It's really sad how black of every nation can not be on time. We traveled all the way from Calumet City to get food and there's a sign on the door saying that they won't be opened until 1:30 today. This is a business with business hours. I certainly hope the food is worth the wait.
