Great little outdoor Tiki Bar venue live music was great lots of seating in and out of the sun overlooking the boat docks. Great place to sit and people watch. There is smoking at the outdoor bar but there's plenty of room to get away from it a pretty great little spot in my opinion.
Thank you Google...I would've never found this place...it is hidden behind the Ramada. But it's by a harbor . It was at night, but it was still beautiful. It was a cute bar restaurant, very inviting. We had something very Floridian...Gator tail! I mean, it's hard to find. It taste like a beef nugget and the sauce was spicy but nice tang. The Philly was delicious and the cordon blue chicken sandwich was unique. It was a super cute spot!
Big shout out to to Mr. bruce…for being a wonderful help by the pool side..He made sure we was comfortable and we was in the shade..This is a well kept secret and has a peaceful atmosphere

Bearded Clam - now Tarpon Bay Tiki Bar. One of the servers was very RUDE. She came to us and asked us if we are going to order drinks or food and we said that we just finished and paid the bill with the 1st server. I understand that it is her section and she needs to make money. We will also order food and drinks in a little bit. But the way she asked us was very condescending. She looks pissed and said , "What are you going to order?" Like rushing and pissed. (FYI- Even if we don't order and if she just acted nicely, I will give her some tip money). Then they moved us again near the boat ramp. When I walked towards the 3rd place where they moved us, the 2nd server came up to me and told me that they moved us near the boat ramp. And I replied, oh it's ok, we are just gonna order again with 1st server (thinking that it was the 1st server's section. She went right intto my face and told me, " you got an attitude mam" and I told her " you are the one who got an attitude" . You came to us yelling and asking what we want and looks like you're gonna eat us." She looks at me very mad and ready hit me. She should not do that to any customers at all. We are just visiting Sarasota this weekend to enjoy time with friends and this what we exoerienced. This is one of the worst memory I've experienced here. First time to eat in this restaurant with a bad memory of this not nice server. This will be in my bad list and I will tell my friends and family of this bad experience. You guys should train your staff to be nice to people whoever and whatever they look like. Especially visitors and new customers. The way she acted was very condescending and I feel threatened of the way that 2nd server acted towards me. She came onto my face like she was about to do something harmful to me. I was very anxious and felt not safe. I even went back to my hotel room right away and don't want to go back to the restaurant.
Had a birthday party at the inside bar and it was great...the staff is super and the venue has a great deal to offer. An added bonus was we were able to get a block of rooms at the Ramada for out of town guests and those that didn't want to drive.
There is outdoor seating and another outdoor bar that looks out on Sara Bay.
The name can be a bit confusing.. it used to be The Bearded Clam but sold and the name, and decor was changed to "Tarpon Bay". It ended up going back to the original owners( I think ????) and the name, "Bearded Clam" was reinstated but the Tarpon Bay decor stayed on the outside Tiki. Now it's kinda got 2 distinct vibes: The club-style indoor part with live music and the more laid-back outdoor tiki hut area. Either way the food and drinks are always first rate. If you're looking for fresh tuna THIS IS THE PLACE. The Ahi Tuna Nachos are an entire mood!???? Order them Extra wet to get more wasabi, soy sauce and chipotle drizzle!
Great service, very nice people. Right next to the ramada by wyndam. Food is good, fast. Good drinks, responsible priced. Right on the waterfront. Live music Friday and Saturday nights.
