Tried this place out of whim and so happy I did! Orders a taco dinner with torta and it was not only good but delicious. Definitely gives authentic Mexican food. Only bad part was no corn available and the horchata was better than some but not the best.
Despite what the menu on Google Maps says, the fajita burrito is NOT vegetarian.
I cannot eat meat and I ordered the fajita burrito assuming it was vegetarian because there's no mention of meat in the description (unlike other burritos) and it's listed underneath the vegetarian burrito. Upon biting into it I discovered that there was in fact meat inside, and the restaurant would not exchange my uneatened burrito for a new one, forcing me to either buy another or look elsewhere. The few bites I had tasted delicious, but this situation could have been handled better.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone as my spouse and I got food poisoning. We ordered two carne asada plates for $15.75 a plate and one large order of fries. The food was okay but the meat was very salty, the rice tasted old and the fries were very soggy. A chef once advised me that if meat is ever too salty when served its because the meat is on the verge of going bad or was already bad. So to get rid of the taste they over salt the meat. Of course cross contamination could have also played a role here. When I called the establishment they denied everything but one cannot deny our horrible food poisoning ????. The establishment did not apologize or give a refund. I advise everyone to be careful when ordering from here especially with your hard earned money. Unfortunately, I will not be trying any new Mexican spots and this unfortunately is why we stopped trying new places.
This little Gem of Lansing ! Me and the family have got food from here a few times in the past month on the weekends . And man . I’m a pastor guy and it’s bomb ! I’ve tried the pastor torta , tacos, burrito and quesadillas. My wife loves the steak tacos . The fries are even good ! Highly recommend this place !
The photo is not doing this justice. It’s my first time coming here today and I thoroughly enjoyed my steak taco dinner! It’s well flavored and seasoned! The rice and refried beans -yes! It’s not thick and dry. My taco was loaded with meat and I will be back! It is so good! You get a small little bag of chips (maybe like 5 chips) that come with the meal and I didn’t wait long! Also the meat was tender and no gristle! Love love love!
Highly recommend. Pastor tacos we pretty dang good and was an instant favorite. Friendly staff as well.
The place isn't fancy - has a "hole in the wall" vibe with only two tables, but the food was fantastic. Their steak was cut super thin which kept it moist and crunchy. I had the taco meal with a steak/chorizo taco, pastor, and a beef tongue and they were all flavorful, perfectly cooked, and delicious. My friend had the chiles relenos and he also commended this dish. The salsa verde was some of the best I've had, and I've traveled in Mexico a fair bit. If you're in the area and want a delicious and affordable meal, this is worth a stop. And the folks there were super nice!
If you like the taste of hot spices food, try The Remedy hot sauce! Fantastic hot but doesn't really linger with an awful burn. I call the sauce the cracker killer
