A couple of weeks ago, after relocating here from the Deep South, I found myself on a quest for an authentic Mexican taqueria – a staple back where taquerias are as common as Waffle Houses. My search led me to this gem, conveniently located just a block off Military Road and Packard. One of the first things I noticed was the spacious parking lot, a welcome sight in any dining adventure.
Stepping inside, the cleanliness of the place struck me immediately. It wasn't just clean; it was spotless, with a well-maintained dining area that invited us to sit and relax. My wife, whom I fondly call the 'tortas queen', was very pleased with her choice. It's always a good sign when the food gets a nod of approval from her.
I opted for a steak burrito. While I enjoyed it, I felt the steak could have been seasoned a bit more. Perhaps the chefs are catering to the local tastes, which might find robust seasonings overwhelming. It's understandable, though I personally wouldn't mind a bit more kick to it.
One thing I regret is not taking full advantage of the salsa bar. Next time, I'll be sure to load up for that extra burst of flavor. Despite the mild seasoning of the steak, I'm already looking forward to my next visit. This place is definitely worth a return trip for anyone seeking authentic Mexican fare in the area.
So I just moved into a new apartment in the falls a few weeks ago and didn't have any groceries or cooking utensils at the time and was STARVING and craving barria. I don't have a vehicle at the moment and have a 6 month old daughter so I couldn't easily walk anywhere close without having to drag her out in the chilly weather with me and I didnt really want to do that to her but I was soo hungry so my last resort was delivery and i had just gotten a digital coupon in my email.. I hesitantly opened my DoorDash app, I try not to use it much because after all the taxes and fees and boosting restaurant food prices and tip, I always find myself spending $50-$80 for something that would have cost me ~ $20-$25 if I had gone myself. And EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I had been missing items that I had ordered and paid for when my food was delivered, when using both DoorDash and Uber Eats. It's like if they use more than one bag for your food, the delivery person only grabs one and both apps are not helpful with refunding missing items. Ever. Anyway, I had heard great things about this place from the servers at the restaurant that I work at, but had never gotten the chance to try it so I figured that I would. Some places put ribs, or pork in their Barria, but I wasn't sure if they did or not so I had wrote in the instruction box that if it was in the barria meat, if they could substitute it with some sort of beef or steak since I saw all their many different meat options for tacos and burritos. Beef barria SOOOO good and they left a little note to let me know it was beef!! Will def order again!!!!
I’ve seen dogs eat better than this. My tostadas were submerged in tomato juice so now they’re soggy and sloppy! The food is bland! Fire the cook ASAP! Wasted my damn money!
Great tacos!! They pack my taco with shrimps!! Like a lot !! Everything taste fresh and delicious, Muy muy rico ????
This place is not it. Given this store multiple attempts and each time it’s failed. There is no flavor consistency and the smallest of details that could make a difference are overlooked. I ordered delivery and not only did they forget an item (AGAIN), but they did not send limes and salsa w/ the tacos. I tried chip salsa w/ the tacos, but it’s just not the same. It should be a crime not to send red/green salsa for the tacos. In addition, the pork and tongue meats were drier than the Sahara desert and just tasted old. I get it, restaurants are a lot to manage, so I get perhaps using day-old meats, but come on, don’t overdo it w/ repurposing. Niagara Falls doesn’t have many taquerias offerings, so I get that this place can slack, or simply not care because lack of competition. They’re definitely not catering to the Latino community. I do not recommend this restaurant. If you want to drive, go to Buffalo or Hamburg.
Definitely a must when in the area! Amazing food and awesome service by Kiara. Her energy alone was really great, definitely super inviting. We left full, happy, and with leftovers since the servings are a decent size.
This food was delicious! The staff was friendly & welcoming. Will be going back! I got flan too but I haven't eaten it yet. But I'm sure it's delicious too. My Sun got a steak quesadilla. He enjoyed it. I really like the salsa bar.
The restaurant was clean. The customer service was great. The food was not up to par. The quesadella had peppers and onions added,which weren't fully cooked. The birras (which we subsituted the beef with el pastor) were very greasey, the rice and beans were underwhelming, and the tamale was dry with no sauce. Would not eat here again.
