Best WLM Reviews

We’ve been eating at this restaurant for about 25 yrs. Always great food and service. Tonight, I ordered the Tandoor Special Dinner which is my favorite. It’s like a sampler that includes a soup and rice pudding. I love the seekh kabab! I usually ask to get chicken tikka masala instead of the lamb dish (since I don’t like lamb) but I finally decided to try the lamb and it was delicious! We usually eat in, which I recommend. Tonight was a delivery and I feel like delivery has smaller portions….but I may be wrong.
Miss the all-you-can-eat; it looks like they won’t bring it back.
Food was ok. The chicken we ordered was hard and taste awful. Goat biryani was good. Samosa is expensive and small. Chai was very very good. Expensive for its serving amount. I used to order here for take out for almost 5 years and the quality went down.
I order from here regularly and I think this is the best spot for Indian food in the neighborhood. I love getting take out from here. The prices are good and the food has been consistently good as well. The portion sizes for the curry entrees are pretty big. I like that they provide an ample curry (plus paneer or meat or whatever main you get) to rice ratio! The only time I’ve felt the portion was on the smaller side was when I got something from the tandoori section—I probably could have eaten two of those. Highlight for me is the chicken korma. It’s so good and they load it with juicy dark meat chicken. They also make a great saag. Delivery has almost always been punctual. The one time the delivery was late, someone called me prior to the cut off time to let me know apologetically that they were backed up and provided a status update. I haven’t dined in there so I can’t speak to the atmosphere. It’s not the BEST Indian food I’ve had, but it has really great staples, and for the price, it really can’t be beat in the area. They also sometimes include a free kheer with the order, which is always a nice treat :).
I’ve been trying biryani from different places in NYC and found the best just in my neighborhood. I ordered the goat and chicken biryani and both tasted so good. It’s the best biryani with fresh ingredients and no after taste.
Ive been visiting this place since 2001 when it was on the north side of Queens Blvd. the food has been always great and also great service. Bushra has been an amazing manager. But they have a new guy recently who takes phone orders. We usually call them to place an order for delivery. The guy on the phone was so so so rude. Not once, not twice, all the time. His attitude was very bad. Every time I ask to speak to Bushra, he’ ll come up with an excuse. I guess this time he recognized my voice and hung up without taking my billing info. I had to call him again after 20 mins (not sure if my order was coming through) to give my payment info. SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! Also I ordered two parathas. They came burnt!!! tandoor, you guys should look into who you hire! We love your food but this has been an awful experience for the last few times!! Sorry! Hope you guys resolve this soon!
P.S I’m attaching a photo of your burn parathas.
The samosa is incredible - I️ would come here just for this. Also, the food was actually spicy.
Got the chicken tikka masala, garlic and regular naan, and chicken basmati. The chicken itself seemed like it was of lower quality, so we ended up eating the naan with the rice and sauces. If they had better quality meat, I would give it 5 stars.
It only took me trying Tandoor once to know I will never try any other place.
The chicken tikka naan is unreal, use it with chicken tikka masala or my favorite korma, that is a whole complete meal. Garlic naan is cool too but chicken tikka is worth the extra $2.
I cannot stress the Korma enough. It’s so good i have to order two bc i neeeeeed leftovers.
Teen Murg Tikka: Amazing flavors and textures, big fan. Samasos are kinda mid for as much as i like it here. I wish they were bigger but they’re cheap and so yum dipped in anything.
I wish there hours were longer too, and i wish there was still a buffet!! Missed it!! I’d eat that korma the house down
Come on guys. Be fair. How can this eatery get a 3.7 rating!? It would, if compared to Paris' "LE CHATEAUBRIAND"... But, when you pay 9$ (lunchtime) for "All you can eat" MUCH MORE THAN AVERAGE Lunch, how do you rate it likewise? Look at my photos, see what is offered for the lousy 9$ lunchtime. Oh... There is a desert included too.
