My husband and I were craving tamales and this place popped up near me on a Google search. We decided to give it a try. We ordered champurrado and it was awful. It tasted like old grease. Maybe like old or stale masa? We both took one sip and left it there. The tamales were okay. They were a little bland, the rice and beans were okay. They only gave us green salsa, which really helped give the food more flavor. I gave the atmosphere a 1 star because there was a big fat moth flying behind my husbands head the entire time and it grossed me out. I know it’s probably not the restaurant’s fault that a huge moth snuck in overnight. But still, it didn’t help the dining experience.
Beautiful little spot, pork tamales are on point. The coffee was fresh and strong. Plus they had my favorite creamer. The girls that took my order were very sweet and accommodating. I will be coming back.
This is one of my favorite tamale spots in Los Angeles. I ordered the red pok tamales with a medium order of champurado. It was all perfect. I'll continue to go here as long as I'm in the area. During the holidays, it gets hectic.
First time there, my wife's cousin took us there for breakfast hoping it was going to be good since she recommended, well not what I was expecting, the menudo was ok the Birria was a little dry and the tamales definitely a big NO they tasted under cook and not to much flavor, the coffee was bitter, the only thing I can recommended was the champurrado it was great ????, maybe will come back for the champurrado only
girl at register told me "hey we have bean and cheese tamales on the weekend, if you want to try?" so I said sure.. why not.. well I get home and cheese isn't even melted it's barely even warm.. wth? waste of money.. I seen that and just threw it away
edit:: tried the pork tamale and when I opened it up the masa was still semi raw.. I just can't win with this place.. ????
Pleasantly surprised. Nice and clean. The tamales are big and good. I will definitely go back.
Very chill spot! I love their sopes de asada & their champurrado! They do have other food options but the sopes are my preference. Must try :)
Small place but good food. I ordered 2 Chile Relleno burritos, and I’ve tried a lot in this part of ELA and Pico. They really made them good. Big and stuffed with Jack cheese. I’m going back for sure.
