Pretty authentic HK style food. Portions are pretty big, and the prices are reasonable. The salted egg yolk pumpkin dish was good with lots of yolks. The clay pot rice was burnt and too salty. Plenty of parking spaces. When it was at full capacity, the noise level was very high. Unfortunately when I was there for the first time, there was a family with screaming kid seated close to our table so it was not a very good experience for me. My second visit was not as full but the TV music was very loud.
Best time for me to come to this place is during tea time:3-5pm as there’s a tea time menu n less people. The food came sooner
First time coming here. We ordered the wonton noodle soup, preserved meat in clay pot, rice roll with leek and shrimp, and French toast with salted yolk and Chinese donut. The wontons were okay, I wanted the noodles to be more crunchy/chewy. The broth was pretty mild, didn’t taste any hint of shrimp. You can only taste the veggies in the broth. The other dishes outshined the wonton noodle soup. Overall, we will be back the rice roll, French toast and the clay pot. We were there around 11:30 for lunch, it was busy but the staff was fast to clean up. We waited maybe 10-15 mins. Service was quick. The staff were quick to refill our lemon ice tea and coffee.
We went here for breakfast. The portions were generous, and the food was tasty. I had the hot milk tea, and it was really good. They also have free refills for drinks as well, which is not standard practice in most places. Will definitely return.
Hey this place is pretty good! I got food to go knowing that this is place has another location in San Gabriel! That location was pretty good and this place is just the same. Person who took my order was nice and patient with my broken Cantonese.
We got the baked porkchop rice, the chicken grilled steak and the beef Lo mein. They even were able to adjust the porkchop rice so that there wasn’t egg in it (allergy reasons)
Still have yet to try some other Cantonese classics, but look forward to next time. Places we used to go like Garden or Boston ain’t there anymore, so glad this place opened up!
It's pretty busy for a Saturday night, but we didn't have to wait to get seated. Ordered all the usual for a Hong Kong style Cafe. My daughter always picked the safe bbq pork over rice. It's a bit too sweet for the sauce poured over rice, but it's manageable with the amount of veggies served alongside. Chicken wings are good, so is the baked spaghetti. ⚠️ the baked spaghetti takes a while to show up, so order something else or nibble on someone else's food first :) Overall, we like it. This restaurant can be be on repeat whenever we're in Rowland Heights area.
omg! this place was a great makeup for some disappointing dim sum at happy harbor, and we had the Hong Kong pancake with the peanut butter inside and syrup along with the horlicks and the Hong Kong tea. wow! wow! wow it was amazing!
(9/9/2023) A Cantonese restaurant spot is the same as Old Day Tasty Garden. Service is good and friendly. Prices are okay and worth it in my opinion. But one of my foods is coming out slower than usual. The food is pretty good and I recommend House Steamed Chicken and Beef Fried Rice. One of the downsides is no lunch special compared to other Cantonese Cafe. Probably one of the spots I would back for Cantonese food.
This place was Tastea Garden or something, now Tam's noddle.
Next to 99 cents store on Colima rd.
2 times here same time same day for take out on sunday around 12:30 the place full, long line. Even for take out i have to wait 30-45 minutes for my food.
Second time, i call in to place order, its take 30- 45 minutes too.
For cripsy pumpkin with salted egg yolk is more for appertizer or snack for us but is good.
Salt and pepper pork chop good.
Peking style pork chop is not our favorite, maybe because the sauce.
Beef stew noddle soup is not bad. They use thinny egg noddle. You can pick the noddles.
Braised tofu in brown sauce is good.
Fish filet with vegetable kids favorite.
They open morning and 7 days/week.
They have chinese america breakfast and lunch.
Red bean ice our favorite.
