Hidden Gem! This place got great grilled food! I’ve had a few things off their menu but my fave’s are the beef short ribs and grilled chicken and shrimp platter! Their yams and mash/ gravy are made from scratch and with love. The menu is extensive and their are so many options to choose from. Besides what I’ve posted, I have also tried their butterfly shrimp, crispy hot wings and Mac&cheese.
Cons:
1. Parking: You will drive right past it twice before you find it and Google Maps will send you the back way to get there. It’s in a weird parking lot behind something like a bar
2. Location: it’s pretty much a hole-in-the-wall location. Upon going inside, it looks like it’s in the process of shutting down as 80% of the establishment is packed up and just the kitchen is available. You cannot eat-in, it’s strictly “take out” only. When you come, you have to ring a bell to tell them you are there and if your food not ready, no worries, it will be worth the wait.
I consider this spot a “hood favorite” as it always hits the spot.
Ordered shrimpie fried shrimp and onion rings. Always love the shrimp, sauce has a little spice to it. The onion rings had a good taste but not fried hard enough, received soggy.
The staff & building was a vibe, but the food was not hitting. I ordered salmon, & compared to a lot of places in the city, it was not great. It came with yellow rice, broccoli, & mash potatoes. Gravy which was unnecessary for fish, & a ton of onions (also unnecessary for the dish) & it pissed me off that it was INSTANT powder mash. Maybe the other food is better.
How do you stir and serve mac & cheese when the milk is completely spoiled. I immediately smelled it when I opened my 20$ platter. That was my second & LAST TIME THERE!!!!!!!
My mom has been ordering from this place ever since the original Shrimpies.
Since I was with her I decided to try the grilled shrimp caesar salad and added on tomatoes and cucumbers....yeah looks like a garden salad ???? now, but it was much better this way than plain lettuce for over $13. The shrimp were good and grilled nicely on skewers.
She ordered the fried shrimp and chicken wings, but of course they didn't have wings just chicken fingers. The lady said they haven't had wings as much lately. I guess if they can still charge the same price of $14+ for chicken fingers why bother with whole wings.
I'm not a fan of a lot of these takeout spots, but it hit the spot in that moment.
I ordered a Chicken Ceasar Salad and it was horrible. It didnt have any Parmesan Cheese, large cucumber slices and tomatoes. The chicken was cool. When i called back to ask for an adjustment I wound up on hold for 20 mins! The service and the food were terrible. I would rather starve than eat there.
They get no stars from me! My first and last time ordering. Food unseasoned, chicken burnt up, and mashed potatoes were black and look like they are instant,macaroni taste like Kraft, rice taste like it was

Love there food and it's always good. Only thing is they will charge u for the air u breath from tht order window outside or the air from the bar inside. They will get u for every nickle lol.
