Good selection on the menu for dinner and lunch combos.
Almost all the dinner selections are available as a lunch combo with soup, rice and an appetizer
Server was very attentive and checked on us frequently.
As far as atmosphere, they could keep it a little warmer. We shouldn't have to eat with our coats on to stay warm.
Taipei & Tokyo makes for a great and fast lunch. Their bento style lunches are excellent. It’s a small portion of a few different things, and each one is great.
My boyfriend felt like sushi and wanted to treat me to dinner so I suggested Taipei & Tokyo so we could try their sushi and dine in experience. Like so many local Manchester restaurants their pricing is inflated about 20-30% higher then they should be based on quality. Overall the food quality was decent! The sushi and tempura gets a 7 out of 10. The sesame chicken gets a 6 out of 10. Atmosphere and service 10 out of 10. This is definitely one of the better choices for the area. If you are going to eat local this is a good choice! The only thing I recommend is not ordering the duck, I have had this on takeout and it was dry and over cooked.
Our first time at this place was pretty awful. Service was piss poor at best. They brought a couple items we ordered, but never came back with the rest for another fifteen minutes, so the first part was completely cold by the time it got here. The pork fried rice had a soapy taste, so I didn't finish it. My friend ordered a few sushi rolls, ate a few bites, but they felt it tasted metallic, which isn't good. When we told the server what was wrong, she looked mortified, and after meeting the chef, i understood why. He came up to our table and proceeded to gaslight us over it, telling us that it was our problem, not his. He then took the food to another table and ask them if it looked ok or not. Super rude. "You ate it, you're paying for it", even though he took the food away, which only had two bites eaten. The salad looked old, soggy, and possibly repurposed. We were polite and fine with paying for what we ate, but the chef hovered and acted like he wasn't going to let us leave. Definitely won't be going here again.
We used to be loyal customers, ordering from here for years- used to be a 5 star place. Unfortunately over the past few months I don’t know if they got a new chef but the food is awful now. We always got mandarin shrimp- now always over cooked and hard- even though we ask every time not to overcook. Last time we got food from there we had to throw it out. Even the egg rolls were not good. Such a shame, used to be such a great place. Will not be going there any more after the last take out order.
Didn’t expect much coming in, but I was pleasantly surprised. Beef and broccoli, chicken and green beans, and sesame chicken were all pretty good. Service was extremely fast - we must have had food within 10 minutes of sitting down. My only complaint was that the chicken had some residual flour coating on it that tasted a bit strange, but otherwise it was a great experience.
It's a pretty mid Asian restaurant. All the Chinese classics, and some more traditional dishes. The sushi is decent enough (I would be sure to order one nigiri to be sure the fish is fresh) and the seaweed salad is fantastic!
Overall, unless you live close, I wouldn't bother going when there are better options out there.
Pleasant ambience; clean and well laid out. Very polite and professional associates. Cuisine was abundant and delicious. No wait and a very lovely experience. I'm from New York so it's got to be a two thumbs up.
