There were some great food including personal hotpot, cold noodles, and stir fried veggies. However, some of the dishes were not authentic enough.
The main reason I gave 3 stars was because I ordered pork cheek and tongue but the cheek was so oily that it wasn't even edible…. (Refer to the photos)
Overall, i don't think it's really terrible but you have to choose the right dishes. The environment and service met expectation.
Had a reservation for large group. Good menu with fair prices. Clean table, clean bathroom. Parking options. Food was excellent. Serving sizes are good. Staff communicated well. Dessert 10/10 presentation. Great atmosphere and location. Would return and recommend for others. Braised pork has a good mix of veggies meat and rice. Lots if drink options and good amount of seating for a group.
Ate here for lunch today after a friend recommended it. Their pork chop bento makes me miss the Taiwanese spot that used to be open near my workplace in Oakland. Also keep in mind that the popcorn chicken portion is huge. Everything was really good and filling.
Great Taiwanese spot in Chicago, just a short walk from the orange line. The crispy chicken breast with chili sauce is plump and juicy with a perfectly crisp breading. The seafood rice roll is flavorful and filling. The beef noodle soups are big and heartwarming.
Did I mention the honey toast is ENORMOUS? You could feed 4 people with it. The toast is fluffy and crisp, the toppings are light and whipped. Wonderful!
This is the only place that I found in the Chicagoland area that has a very extensive menu. There are a few in the burbs but their menu is very limited and doesn’t have all of the stuff you want. For that reason, I’ll give this place 5 stars because of the lack of Taiwanese food. They have multiple places to park. They have the one in front of the restaurant but you do get idiots that don’t know how to drive. I would avoid that one and park across the street. Free street parking as well as the area by that park. Surprisingly, when we walked in after 6:45 pm on a Saturday night, they had tables available. Usually, they’re filled up. For a group of 4, we had 1 order of popcorn chicken, Taipei adventurous hot pot, Korean kimchi hot pot, spicy beef noodle soup, and braised chicken leg bento box. Very generous portions. Popcorn chicken was very tasty without any sauce. Those hot pots taste good with the rice they provide for you. Prices were reasonable. Second time I have been here. Service was great, water was always refilled and food came fast.
Absolutely delicious classical Taiwanese fare that’ll have your memories tickled. Parking was kinda nuts, suggest to park across the street at the park. The lunch box was even served in a metal container!
Ordered a braised pork w rice plus a taro milk tea. They were pretty good. The pork felt a bit oily after eating a bit, but definitely a good amount for that price tag! Would recommend :)
The best comfort food. Try the popcorn chicken and classic beef noodles. All really delicious. Milk tea good too.
