We’re new in the area and drive by this location often so, we decided to give it a try on Saturday for a quick lunch. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment! We ordered a Medianoche Sandwich, Beef Empanadas and Ham Croquettes. Overall, the food was dripping greasy, particularly, the empanadas. It seemed like either the oil wasn’t at temperature or, the food was frozen or, they double or over fried it. The worst part was that it wasn’t even tasty. Perhaps it was just a bad day but, that wasn’t representative of good Puerto Rican cuisine. The staff was operative but, the service was a little slow even though the place was basically empty. There was no atmosphere besides some salsa music and singing coming from the kitchen and the cooking crew.
Location extremely busy but honestly the staff is a great team. The reps Sophia and Paola are outstanding. Very kind and is happy to service their guest. Sophia extremely funny and always having a big smile to greet everyone.
Thank you for the amazing food and service! Welcome to the community.
Food was delicious, tostones were crispy, rice was good, empanadas were full and had great flavor, ordered the pizza and beef, the pizza empanadas was better in my opinion, the steak was a bit salty for my liking but still tasted great. I liked that there was a self service kiosk so it was easier to see what I was ordering through the pictures on the screen, and the restaurant was clean.
Did not feel puerto rican at all. the vibe was meh. very slow. a PLUS the macaroons were amazing! my kids loved the sugar donut. However, the Merengue was not good. Tasted like eggs...something went wrong in the process.
I usually go there in the AM. I LOVE the Avena, cafe clarito and I try to get an "enpanada" or "cheese dog". To my surprise I went for a late lunch (around 3-4pm) and I order the Taino Mofongo and that WAS SUPER DELISH. Flavorful! All the meats were cooked to perfection. I will definitely get this again.
The food, atmosphere, and service were amazing.
Sofia at the front counter was polite and helped walk me through the delicious menu.
The ham and cheese sandwich was tasty in addition to all the pastries in the cabinet.
Will definitely return.
It was quite a long wait for this Taino to open and since we know the Orlando location , there was great anticipation. But the visit was a very disappointing experience and surprisingly negative. I ordered a budín but it was really hard and super dry, it was yellow and there was no texture to it. Budin has been a staple in my family for generations and I've never seen one like it .Two cheese pastelillos were so greasy and unappealing in appearance that I had second thoughts about them from the moment I peeked inside the bag. There was a puddle of grease at the bottom. As I looked to the kitchen the cook was throwing an unidentifiable mass into the grill that made me gasp- I overheard him saying this is too hard while he tried to break it apart...I couldn't imagine someone eating that and having a good digestion. We waited a long time for our coffees but the place was fairly empty. It felt as if there is no system to their organization for servicing orders. The only good thing was the coffee but it will not be worth another visit being that the bakery assortment is limited and coffee alone is never for me. It's been three hours since we left Tainos and I still feel a grease stench that somehow permeated my hair - and clothing. As a Puerto Rican who loves to support Boricua businesses I have to pass on this one because it was a one visit event. Never again. Oh, it was $25 for 3 pastries, 3 coffees and two ungodly pastelillos.
Placed an order online via their website. Paid for the order and was given a confirmation and pick up time. I arrived a little before pickup time and waited with the others, picking up their orders. A little past my pick up time I asked about my order. Was told it was coming. Then I stood there as every single person got their orders before me. Even the lady who placed her order AFTER I arrived. My order was placed online 20 minutes before I arrived.... I then notice the order screen, which is empty except for my order that is red and says RECALLED. At this point, I'm done waiting, as it seems my order is being skipped, and I ask for a refund. When I did this, my food was magically ready. Apparently, when you place an order, be sure to use a latin name... or your order won't get filled.
I'll also add that the chicken was way overcooked, dry, and tough as jerky.
