Great hike! Hope you like heights when you get to the bridge!
I had a small hand in constructing this bridge when it was rebuilt years ago. We packed in the eye bolts and turnbuckles manufactured at Tacoma Screw Products on Center St.
It is a great day hike. Moderate to difficult because of the rocks and some climbing.
Gear: decent trail shoes or hiking boots, poles are a plus, daypack for snacks. Cross the bridge and to eat your lunch!
5 stars for a bridge that didn't make me plunge to my death. The rest of my party and oxen died from dysentery, child birth, and starvation though.
