Meat is very dry and stale like it’s been sitting all day. Very mediocre and bland. Ate one and threw out the rest
I've been enjoying El Rey's tacos since they were served from a taco truck when I was 13, and now I'm 42. Over the years, El Rey has consistently delivered the best tacos I've ever had. The flavors are authentic and have remained unchanged, offering the closest taste to Mexico you can find.
Their other restaurant in Nampa maintains the same exceptional quality, with the added bonus of chips and salsa and a selection of beer. Despite my efforts to find other places with tacos as good as El Rey's, nothing else comes close.
I also judge Mexican food by the quality of their Spanish rice and refried beans, and El Rey excels in both. They truly knock it out of the park. If you're looking for authentic and delicious Mexican food, El Rey is the place to go!
The taco itself is very good. The pulled pork also very delicious and savory. If the taco can have more juice like more lemon or seasoning juices , I think will be perfect
Seriously the best fish tacos I've had in Boise. Great food, great prices. They have meat and vegetarian options too!
Pretty small place but big on flavor! Haven't been here before but it was totally worth it. I got chicken enchiladas & the avocado on top was great, the sauce was a perfect complement, and the chicken was flavorful. The rice and beans are good, though helped more by one of those awesome hot sauces they have. Good cost, great taste, will eat again!
Tacos El Rey 2 is a solid choice if you're looking for some authentic Mexican food. The have a great selection of tacos to choose from. They have plenty more to choose from as well. The tortas and flautas looked especially tasty as they were coming out. The hot sauce in the red container is definitely not for the faint of heart! This stuff will make you sweat!
I was visiting a friend in Boise recently and took a walk over to Tacos El Rey and was pleasantly surprised. I've traveled alot in Mexico and this place is the real deal! I ordered tacos, buche, cabeza and asada and they were so yummy:) Just two small tortillas, meat and cilantro and onion, nothing more is needed. If you're in Boise check this place out, you won't be disappointed????
It's HARD to find a good and authentic taco shop in Boise. Californians will know what I'm talking about. This one, this one is good. Not quite like "home" but it works in a pinch. Example? You KNOW it's legit when they serve lengua (tongue) tacos. So come try this place and enjoy the fact they have legitimately hot salsa!
