I have appreciated using this station to connect to other routes & places in this area and beyond. You can catch the T-Line light rail, Sounder trains, or Amtrak trains at the nearby stations up the stairs and elevator from the platform. The bus drivers here are usually kind, just mind your manners with them. Buses run on time, and that is important.
While security patrols the area, there have been some questionable encounters from other riders and nearby folks (not the stations’ fault). Be cautious, and try to plan your travels during the daytime if you can. Lastly, be aware that sometimes people will smoke cigarettes or vape near the bus stops, so if your lungs are sensitive, you may want to wait elsewhere.
Two garages which is great, but easily fill up. They fill up quickly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Enough lighting inside the garages to not make it creepy for if you have to be there at night.
Also if the garages are full, next block over there is a pay and park lot that is pretty inexpensive to use.
I have always enjoyed catching my bus at the Dome Station. I have not had any problems with the buses, and find it very convenient to get to my destination and back in a timely fashion. The driver's are very helpful, polite and courteous. Thank you for all your hard work and patience being our Driver's for those of us that depend on the bus systems.
Buses are rarely late or super early. Fair seating while waiting and decently cleaned, including the bathrooms. Although there's not a 'pick up' zone there is an empty and often unused parking lot next door as well as a connected parking garage that serves as a pickup area on the ground floor. I appreciate there's always transit police or a transit agent nearby as there has been instances they were need and they swiftly responded. Been using buses for years, especially this center since high school. If you're in need of resources the shelves are always stocked with transit books. There is an 1 Orca station on site (and more located at the Sounder station) Besides that theres a genuine bus shop just a moment away so I have to say for a small transit center it serves its purpose very well. Even better, the station is equipped with digital clocks which has been a little nifty addition to keep track of time. And yes, their clocks are correct but I question the clock tower accuracy....
More over if you're heading to Seattle between 3:30-6AM, I suggest being 45 or more minutes early because back to back those buses/routes are stuffed and the lines are 'loooong' so be prepared! I would also say the same to Seatac and UW at those hours as well. Needless to say, good station and safe commuting to everyone riding :)
Went and got some cigs from the ear pony. Bus was right on time. Now I'm going back to my apartment off of commerce. Have a great sunny day. ????✌️
Safe because the cops are always patrolling.
Buses come on time.
Buses are always on time and appreciate the drivers. Nice way to travel from tacoma to seattle.
Easy to drive to, free parking, and near bus and train routes.
