Favorite, fun Mexican restaurant in town! The food is amazing, fun menu, great happy hour, margaritas, and customer service is friendly! The menu and ambiance has all the cat themes you could ask for! This is also a restaurant that is part of the Infinity Loop Challenge! So fun.
Mmmm. This was very good. Wife had been here before but this was my first time. Cold day so they got us glasses of hot water instead of a mug. That helped heat up my hands and fingers! Food delivered in average time. Good refills. Very nice server and conversational.
The food was awesome! I think I won the mass contest. That's my way of judging what meal actually had the most food. I really did like the meal. Piles of onion rings and a layer of fries underneath the onion rings! Two small burgers on top. Feta cheese sprinkled on top of everything.
Wife let me try her chipotle sauce and spicy beans. That was great too. She had the steak tacos.
Seems like everyone is charging about 3%now for credit cards! When did this start?
Not only was the food delicious but the service was GREAT as well. Our server name was Lauren, and she was sweet, kind and informative. I had the southern grits. Even the margaritas drinks were good this will be my new spot for now on. Can’t wait to go back!
Really liked this spot! We went on a Friday at 6 and got seated without a wait but it’s small so I imagine we got lucky to be seated so soon. A little slower service so anticipate a longer stay. We spent about two hours there. Food is great, really loved the fried okra and potato ole apps. Taco bento was good, but not the best tacos I’ve ever had. Drinks are great. The menu is so wild and unique. I love the Japanese and Mexican/Soul Food clash- it somehow works so well? So strange. Love it though. It’s not cheap so don’t put it in the same box with other quick service Mexican food. The ingredients are very unique and authentic- I hadn’t heard of a large portion of the ingredients but was excited to try them. You can tell there’s a lot of love and care put into the food. If you are not picky and not stingy, you’ll love it. If you pick apart your food and want something inexpensive, this is not your place.
Absolutely loved this place! The bartender/waitress was absolutely phenomenal and when I asked her what she’d get between the Almost Shrimp and Grits and the Ramen - she immediately told me Shrimp and Grits. Now… I’m from New Orleans and these are NOT your traditional shrimp and grits and I am VERY picky when it comes to northerners playing with southern recipes… but this was definitely something I’d order again! The spice and the flavor “chefs kiss”. It reminded me of home but also somewhere new and memorable. I would order it again without hesitation. I also got a Bloody Mary and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had. I’d recommend this place to anyone if they’re looking for a fun but relaxing atmosphere to eat.
We visited on 6/27/23 for the first time.
Atmosphere was amazing. Very eclectic decor and very cozy and inviting. We ordered 2 appetizers - chips, salsa, queso, and guacamole and the fried okra. The guacamole did not have much flavor, it was definitely missing something. Everything else was great. We each got different types of tacos, chicken, steak, and Al pastor. They were good but my chicken tacos barely had any chicken in them, however my friends steak tacos were loaded with yummy looking steak. The red beans were DELICIOUS!
Great cocktail menu. Prices were a little high overall. But food quality was good.
Parking is on street or ramp.
Nice little trendy fusion restaurant. Funky ambience and unique menu but seemed like it was trying a little too hard to reach peak fusion. Ordered the Southern Ramen. The noodles, broth and sausage added up to a nice overall flavor profile and a familiar ramen mouth feel but the breaded fried items (okra and crawfish) made the broth goopy. It also had large slices of wet pork fat with zero meat that ended up in a pile on my napkin. Pretty off-putting. If I get a hankering for fusion I might go back. I bet I can find a dish I like better.
Great place downtown Cedar Rapids. Unique menu and atmosphere. Really good food and service. Will be back!
