We have been driving by this restaurant a few times a week since we moved to Merced. We google it to check if it was worth it, decided to give it a try, my husband took me out to date night here, to my surprise, this is a very nice place, atmosphere is awsome, not a lot of people (maybe because we went early), wich we loved it, place it's nice, clean and very comfortable, service it's awsome, they took care of us with so much kidnes and professionalism, food was so good, this is our favorite place so far in the city. Will definitely come back.
Pleasant surprise with this hidden gem, great food and friendly service is two of their strong points, along with respectable prices and good portions. The appetizers were delicious
1. Spinach dip
A great creamy and cheesey dish served with bread. Great flavor and truly a good starter.
2. Bruschetta
Fresh and tasty tomatoes and herbs presented nicely with the dish. There is a nicr sweet and acidic flavor that holds count well with the provided bread.
The new York strip was flavorful and cooks exactly to specifications of medium rare, the combinations of marinade and seasonings were truly on point and provided a great tasting piece of meat. Normally who really cares about the vegetables that comes along with a steak? I would think that would be a majority of people, but trust me it's different here. The vegetables that come along with the steak must be flavored with the tears of angels because they were some of the best mixed vegetables to pair with the potatoes to round the meal out. This is not garnish people lol It's worth it to try.
The UC Merced burger was perfectly cooked and well complemented with a soft crusty bun that soaked up the juices from the burger. There was thick crisp bacon along with the cheese and a generous portion of avocado to top the burger off. The quiet MVP would really be the french fries that comes with the burger, these are not your bad fast food fries lol They are truly hot, crispy, delicious and just with the right hint of salt.
Overall this is a really good restaurant and worth your hard-earned dollar, so please don't hesitate and pass them thinking that you can't have a great dining experience that doesn't require a tuxedo and a ball gown. So remember to enjoy the ride, appreciate the meal, and make it the best.
Phenomenal food and atmosphere! We got the steamed clams appetizer and linguine vera cruz. Bursting with sophisticated flavor. Atmosphere was the perfect blend of elegant, quaint, and casual. And the complimentary bread, warm from the oven, was simply divine. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful.
Small note that the berries in our lemon berry cake were frozen, maybe go for a different dessert, they have tons of delicious sounding options.
Amazing customer service, beautiful atmosphere, and incredibly delicious food. My husband and I celebrated our two year wedding anniversary here and everything was just incredible. I wished my husband a happy anniversary as we got up to leave and he suggested we re-create the photo we took on our wedding day in front of the Good Vibes Only wall. Just before we walked out the door the host stopped us and our waiter rushed to hand us an anniversary cheesecake (so delicious btw) and wished us a happy anniversary. 10/10 customer service. We had such a wonderful time and look forward to continuing this little tradition we’ve started.
My husband took me here for my birthday. We had never been. The service from the moment we walked through the door was great. The food far exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back. Our server Cristina was amazing and Eva from behind the scenes made our visit even better.
This was an elegant resturant with good food and large portions. They allow you to customize food and have great service. Our server Luly was very helpful, professional and accommodating.
Mediocre and way overpriced. Me and my girlfriend had ordered a calamari appetizer for 18 bucks, and we were shocked at how small the portion size was. We had gotten at most 10 lousy pieces of calamari, for 18 bucks... Rest of our food sucked, it was bland and not worth one bit of it's overpriced tag. Do not waste your time here.
I love this place.
The food is excellent from appetizers to entrées and their calzones are homemade and excellent.
Starting u with some of the best bread I've eaten, warmed with butter that isn't like a rock but really soft is a nice touch and an excellent way to start ur dinner.
This is my go-to place for my birthday dinner every year since they were Cova's out off Childs Ave.
If u haven't eaten there yet I highly recommend it.
