Husband needed a cut during visit and found Raphael’s. Was able to make appointment for same day. A busy place but efficient and minimal waiting. We loved the haircut, much better than his home salon and honestly, probably the best looking cut he’s ever had.
Raphael's is the best barber shop in Silver Spring. The barbers are top notch, the work is quick and professional, and you always walk out looking better than when you went in. I would recommend Raphael's to any guy needing a haircut within five miles of the place.
The staff is professional, they listen to what you want and provide a great haircut for a reasonable price.
Great experience here ! When we first walked in, we were greeted and told to take a seat. The wait was about 15-30 min due to 3 people being ahead of me . I never know how to explain my haircut to a new barber but they were able to work with me and my haircut looks great.
Have been coming here for a while, all the barbers are highly competent. Except, today I walk in and get a barber I’ve never seen before. She seemed like she had never cut hair before. Botch very simple short-sides, long on top haircut. I had lines in the side of my head that looked like Neapolitan ice cream.
What really gets me is that she had no awareness of her incompetence. It’s one thing to be a novice and communicate that to your client beforehand; but to continue forging ahead when you are clearly not up to the job is disrespectful. She was ready to let me walk out looking ridiculous. Luckily, the barber next to us stopped her and took over, quickly trying to save what she had done.
I came here in the past because I could walk in and be confident that the barber I got would give me a great haircut. Sad to learn that this is no longer true.
I've had almost all the barbers here and you literally can't go wrong with any of them. I've almost exclusively used Tamara but again, when you are a "walk-in" others are often booked via appointments.
Booksy is the recommended app for scheduling, but most accept walk-ins and again, everyone cuts hair well there. Just a matter sometimes of conversational preference!
During the pandemic, I've gone for two haircuts at other salons. Because of only being able to take my mask off one side at a time, neither haircut came out even..... so I just stopped getting it cut altogether and looked like a shaggy dog by the time I found Raphael's. I didn't even know if they took women or not. I just figured they would because my hair is shorter than a lot of men's, anyway. :P My stylist did not give me a card, so unfortunately I cannot recommend him by name- a pity because he did something for me that few stylists have ever been able to match. The cut was perfect. It was superb. What I mean by that is hair product covers up a lot of sins, and I didn't need any at all. I'm so proud of my new look.
I have been coming here for the last 3 or 4 years as my exclusive barber shop. I always try to book with Ebrahim if he is available. He is fantastic. I have also had a couple haircuts with the Russian lady who's name escapes me right now, she is also excellent. I can't speak for any of the other barbers there but I'm very happy with the service I've received.
