I think Tony as a dr sounds like he deserves 5 stars for his knowledge on sleep issues most drs don't even know the name of.
But it kind of ruins it when greed seems to be undeniably present...
When appointments are so expensive only the wealthiest/ most privileged in NZ can afford help it seems wrong especially for these sleep disorders which cause extreme psychological distress to the point some commit su1cide. I cannot think of a reason appointments must be that expensive to make ends meet given GPs charge $20-50 per 15mins & still do well.
Obviously people who got the privilage to study med paid & worked alot for it, & like anyone else who works hard this deserves payoff. I just don't think I could knowingly leave people suffering knowing full well 99% of sufferers (thus likely the vast majority who need it most) can't access help due to astronomical appointment fees
The staff are nice enough, but it takes far too long to get a script complete. A minimum of 10 days from when I enquire about renewing my script. Once took a month before I got the medication I need to function properly. Same experience with my partner who goes to this practice.
Honestly, we shouldn't have to ration our medication or go without because Practice 92 can't adequately deal with their admin.
I am so grateful to have accessibility to Dr. Tony Fernando's expertise considering his highly recognised accomplishments.
Dr. Fernando has the ability to sensitively extract the required information in order to help through his gentle and steadfast methods, probing at the right moments to gain a full picture and understanding so he could informatively advise and find solutions.
He is professional and diligent while remaining down to earth and kind.
I was very fortunate to be called in to cover a last minute cancelation as he has a long waiting list ahead.
I feel extremely refreshed, positive and hopeful after my session with Dr. Fernando and he even opened up a new slot in his booked out calendar to ensure my follow up appointment is timely.

This tart was 30 minutes late to a 60 minute appointment and still charged my client $550. Disgusting
Great practice! The administration team are amazing, always reminding me before scripts run out and regular text check ins between sessions. Doctor Phaldessai has helped me a lot with his kind and compassionate bedside manner.
if you get referred to dr HUGH CLARKSON RUN! Literally don’t leave the gp if you’re referred to him. I never write reviews but this man was one of the main reasons I had to leave New Zealand. I was self harming badly and incredibly suic*dal (many trips to A&E) and he told my parents that was normal and left it at that. No assistance, no care. I had a severe phobia of throwing up that caused me to drop out of school and be unable to leave me house for about a year. This man told me that one day I’d wake up and just “get over it”. And funnily enough I didn’t. And this went on for over a year. He was incredibly reluctant to prescribe and in-fact quite anti-medication which is pathetic for a psychiatrist. I had severe depression and my ssris didn’t work for me and he gave me no other options. Wouldn’t even begin to look into others. He had absolutely no care and I genuinely hope he either loses his job or retires soon cuz god I pray for anyone who works with him. I was dying and that man was sitting there watching while we paid him. I was so lost for help I had to return to my home country and as much as I liked New Zealand the moment I became Ill I was doomed. Although on a good note David Stebbing helped me a lot ???? I’m so grateful he helped me and I most definitely recommend. Unlike hugh he looked into different treatments and assisted me in getting better.
Practice 92 do not value their patients AT ALL. I have been emailing this place back and forth for months on end. It took nearly 6 months to reply to my first email. I want to come back here and receive further assistance for my serious mental health issues, but these people seem to make it way worse for me. After my first appointment last year, I began my new medication, I haven’t heard a dickie bird to see how I was handling the medication, let alone my mental stability. All I needed was one document signed. This takes 30 seconds. THAT’S ALL. I have had absolutely no result, no follow ups, taking days to reply and I’m not wasting anymore of my life trying to get help from these people who clearly have more important things on their mind than their suffering patients. Do better. I won’t be back and neither will anyone I will come across.
Having been in an out of public mental health services for a few years I didn't have high hopes when referred here but I was recently discharged from Practice 92 where I was able to get to a good level of mental health. The quality of care was great and admin staff were very responsive. I think I needed to be able to have follow up when I needed it rather than on the schedule of the DHB. Well worth the cost - I feel like I know how to look after myself now. Thanks!
