Maison Lairoux is a lovely spacious home, which is well equipped with everything you need. We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay here. Annette and Jason were very welcoming. We particularly enjoyed the large, heated, (enclosed) swimming pool, which was also well equipped with sunloungers, parasols and swimming toys and floats, not to mention the amazing view of the rural landscape.
Our three children (aged 4-6) particularly enjoyed the play room, which has a wonderful selection of complete (and working!) and varied toys. They had more to play with here than they do at home! The playroom also had good facilities for older children and teenagers too. Annette and Jason have literally thought of providing everything, from beach equipment, boules, toys for a wide age range, table tennis, puzzle books, novels, dvds, pool table, gym equipment, games for all ages, guide books.
We have not found a holiday home that is so equipped for children, which in turn led to the most relaxing week for the whole family!
We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, daily walks to the vending machine for fresh baguettes, and a couple of trips to the beautiful nearby beaches. We felt very at home and comfortable staying here and I would highly recommend Maison Lairoux for the whole family.
A beautiful location with superb views, exceptionally friendly hosts, extremely well equipped and fantastic grounds! Annette and Jason (owners) are extremely friendly, informative and helpful, the warm reception we received after a long drive was particularly welcome and made us feel right at home. My wife and I had our two and a half year old daughter with us who absolutely thrived running around the generous grounds, playing in and by the pool, also playing with some of the toys in the amazing playroom that is a child of any age's dream come true!
There are scores of wild birds that visit the feeding tables even a little family of Tawny owls on the grounds which were lovely to witness. The location is fantastic for great beaches and coastal resorts as well as lovely traditional French countryside.
We absolutely loved our stay and wished it had been for longer! I would thoroughly recommend this superb Gite.
Having stayed at Annette & Jason's Maison Lairoux in 2017 we loved it so much we went again this year and have booked for 2019! We love it here. Annette and Jason are wonderful hosts. As last year, the facilities are brilliant, everything you could need, be it for a lazy day by the beautiful pool, days out on the beach or visits to nearby attractions. We had a fab day with the kids at the Chateau des Adventuriers and also at the aquarium in La Rochelle, all aided by great recommendations and tips to make the most of the days from Annette and Jason. On top of that this year I went on some great bike rides with Jason, using their bikes and getting to see more of the beautiful area. The icing on the cake was a night out when Jason drove us to the restaurant and Annette babysat the children, much to the children's delight! We had a fantastic stay with Annette and Jason at Le Vieux Café. The house is very well equipped for families - so many things we needed and so many things we didn't even realise we needed! The pool is fantastic, views/setting simply stunning and the games room/gardens an added bonus. The sunsets and watching the local wildlife were a definite highlight! Annette and Jason were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble. It was our first time to the Vendee and we will most definitely be back. Thank you again!
We visited this place a few years ago and we still have very fond memories of it. It was a very peaceful location. A lovely, clean and comfortable house with everything we needed. The children really enjoyed playing in the pool and exploring the beautiful gardens. The barn with games was awesome! Our hosts were super friendly and helpful. We looked it up again this week because someone asked if we could recommend a place to stay in France and this came to mind straight away because it was such a memorable holiday!
We hope to visit again one day soon!
A very well equipped site and a comfortable gite - Annette & Jason were excellent hosts and we had a very relaxing stay. A good area to base yourselves as close to both the coast and countryside.
Delighted with our recent holiday here. A peaceful rural location with interesting birdlife. Great facilities such as a swimming pool, relaxing garden, games room and gym - plenty to keep our teenagers happy. The owners are friendly and helpful. The house is very well equipped and spacious. We would highly recommend!
