Food was perfect & delicious . Atmosphere & interior nice. Of course to be comply good need to do something with ventilation or air conditioning as hot was inside what makes a little bit minus. Beautiful place.
This restaurant serves authentic Chinese food. I recommend ordering in advance (if possible). Service is fast and there's also an open terrace at the back. There are a few parking spots in the front too!
This was some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had, and I live in Melbourne where the standard is high! It’s not necessarily close to the city centre, but it was super close to my accommodation and we were blown away by how delicious all of our dishes were. Would absolutely recommend.
So sad to have to post this but their takeaway service is bloody appalling.
With Lotus Kraainem, you must always:
1) triple check your order before leaving;
2) expect rudeness/dismissal when you confront owners regarding wrong orders;
3) order any kind of fried rice and prawn chip appetizer, spring roll on busy nights. They are not cooked fresh to order at all (perhaps recycled from in-dining?) and you can taste it.
This evening, they gave us the wrong order again! And interestingly enough, for higher priced items in the place of fried beef rice originally ordered.
No apologies from Madam who insisted she got it right (despite having spent nearly 4 minutes on the phone, flipping back and and forth between EN and FR, trying to explain our order to her), no compensatory measures-nothing.
Time and time again, we want to give this local business a chance to redeem themselves (we were big fans of the Kraainem Fu-Lan) and every time , they fall screamingly short.
First and foremost, they need to decide if they speak English only, as they once said, or French only, or both (or replace the lady who takes the orders with someone fully tri-lingual FR/DE/NL!)
Better to ask for customers to reference menu numbers directly rather than complicate their own lives and anger their clientele.
We enjoyed our dishes, only had to wait pretty long despite there being only two tables during our visit. My companions thought the order of dishes served could be improved. But overall, quite highly recommended and staff were cordial.
Everything I tasted was authentic and excellent would make the drive anytime.

The take-away is outstanding, usually ready in just 10 mins with good size portions and perfect packaging to take in the car.
Update July 2015: Change of management, and the quality has dropped significantly.
The food is pretty good, and with generous portions. If you have an appetiser and main dish, there should be leftovers to eat the next day. That makes Lotus a good value for the money. Nothing special (Station 3 down the street is fancier), it is a nice place to bring the family especially when we can sit outside.
