Best WLM Reviews
beautiful room, good service and location, dogs allowed. We recommend
Very good location, the beds not so comfortable, but good enough for a one night stay. Very nice view on the Meuse river, down part the noise from the bistro till 23h then it's all quite and peaceful.
Very comfy, clean and modern place. The patio and bar downstairs make it that much better, only downside is some noise if you're an early sleeper. Hosts were very nice and discrete, free coffee was a plus. Close enough from everything in town.
Panama is a cosy little place with clean rooms, and a nice little bar in the ground floor. My room had a view overlooking the river, so that was nice. The folks here (I forgot the couple's name) are really warm and friendly, and the bar has a nice Bohemian vibe (so many hats inside:) ). The people who visited the bar while I stayed seemed to be regulars, so there are good conversations to be made. The lady who runs the place made me a tasty dinner too, though the 20 euros was a little steep I thought.|| ||The place is right next to Rocher Bayard and easy to locate, but visitors may end up walking the 2.5 km from the citadel to get here most of the times as public transport is between extremely infrequent and non-existent (there are 3 or 4 trips a day, typically once every 3-4 hours). The walk beside the river is super-scenic though.
Fantastic location and an interesting quirky place but seems to have been let go. Advertises as a B&B and a bistro but no breakfast and no meals. Missing some basics like bath mats and glasses in room. Pub downstairs open til 2am so noise expected (no choice on summer nights but to keep windows open) but when it is after 4am on a Sunday and the staff are yelling at each other as they pack up for over an hour you probably don’t want to stay here if you want sleep. Seems to have been neglected because owners are putting their effort into another hotel. It’s a shame because it really could be a wonderful place to stay.
Be careful - they're trying to charge us a big extra fee for something that wasn't our fault. For the check out there was nobody there for us to explain that a decorative hammock fell down because of the poorly plastered wall. So now they suddenly want to charge us 50€.
Also, the private bathroom is corridors away and you have to go through a maze to reach it.
Surprised that this place has such good reviews.
We were at this place with my boyfriend in the middle of the week, we visited Dinant during our "Benelux" trip and in the Le Panama we were celebrating his birthday. The bar had friendly atmosphere, a lot of nice smiling people were there. The waitress was very nice girl and we were having so much fun there. Beer and wine are very tasty and for good prices. Definetely go there, if you are planning a trip to Dinant.
The Panama and especially the rooms are quite freshly renovated, to the extent that the smell of paint is still a bit there.||I was staying in the room on the garden side, calmer than the busy front rooms, which are situated just above the bar/bistro and facing towards the river AND the main road. It was a "live music" night, so we could hear quite well what was being played, in spite of the description claiming that the rooms were soundproof. The door certainly was not. I can't say how it is on nights wihtout concert but certainly there is also non-live music at the bar which you can slighly hear and feel the beat duirng the day, so I'm assuming it is so at night as well.||On the positive side, the place is very clean and the bed is very good quality. There is a coffee machine and a fridge in the corridor so if you trust your mates from the other rooms, this is quite handy. ||You need to tread a few steps to get to your private bathroom (they are separated from the rooms and in the corridor, at least for two out of the three rooms) but it's no big deal. The environment-aware travellers will probably find though that having automatic lights in the corridors functionning 24h a day is a waste.||The breakfast is OK, nothing exceptional and with good choice but basic/cheap brands of yoghurt and ham/cheese. But you will not go away hungry and coffee and organge juice are not limited.||As for the situaiton, the Panama is about 20' walk from the main tourist attractions in the centre and the walk can be really nice, alongside he river banks.
