Lovely staff, friendly and appeared to enjoy being at work.
Nice breakfast, menu said 'full English' but was missing the fried bread & black pudding but I'm sure if I asked they would probably have it somewhere for an extra cost.
Was glad that the price for a 'full English' included a drink.
Banging food and £5.90 for a full English breakfast including a cuppa!!
Great little place tucked away in the business park. If you're looking for a bite to eat to take away or to sit down with something a little more substantial, it has you covered.
All sandwiches are made fresh and to you liking with a variety of filling choices. Pastries, hot food and cake are also on offer. They have specials for certain days of the week, sadly not every day.
The staff are friendly and very welcoming, making you feel right at home.
There can often be a long wait if you go during the working week lunch hours and service can be a little on the slow side in terms of managing it. It can also be a little confusing going in for your first time, so be sure to ask the friendly staff.
Overall if your in the area and want a fresh bite to eat that has a home made feel to it at a reasonable cost, you should certainly stop by.
Prices are dearer than what's shown on the menu board, either that or the staff can't add up properly, ordered a sausage sandwich and chips, the sausages were a mixture of being rock hard, or stone cold. The chips (with salt-about 3 granules, give or take 2 granules) were soggy and just warm, before i finished them they were cold....very poor, probably the worst cafe food i've ever had, as i'm typing this the food is turning in my stomach,Never again, avoid.
Google some spam website has hijacked this web site for the likeside Cafe, please fix this.
I was very dissapointed with this cafe and the cleanliness of the cafe, plates were left everywhere with boxes piled up around the room. Upstairs is freezing cold and they can't put the radiators on so make sure you take your coat! The staff were very rude and talk to you in a bossy manner, I appreciate they are busy but they are still providing customers with a service. One male manager came up to our tables and shouted at us abruptly as one of our gluten and wheat free friends had not purchased food from there. He was agressive and unappreciative to the fact that the rest of us had probably spent £20+ And the fact that they don't offer any range of gluten or wheat free products! She was told to eat outside in future whilst he slammed his hands down on the lunch she had brought. Also, we couldn't have any of our first choice food as you have to pre order everything. Not a good cafe at all!
Only been the once but had a salad box here and it was pretty good! Great location on Sherwood Park, parking outside and the prices aren't too bad. Very friendly and helpful staff. Well recommended.
Average food for ridiculous prices. They are currently charging 10p per salad item (Lettuce, tomato and cucumber) to "spread the increased cost onto the customers". This is completely outrageous as they are clearly just greedy and making more profit from this, it's just not possible to justify a 10p increase PER ITEM when the cost of the amount they put onto each portion probably doesn't even exceed 2p. Personally I find it insulting that they are taking advantage of their customers like this. If they want, I can give them a personal tour of Morrisons and hopefully they will realise you can buy a whole lettuce for 50p (Probably enough for at least 20 average sandwiches, 50 if you take into account their portion size). Probably not be eating at this establishment again until they sort this blatant disregard for their customers. Also, they've stopped the meal deal because the "price of coke has gone up", last time I checked there's more than just coke available in that fridge (water for example) but more on this subject another day.
Quick Facts About Lakeside Cafe
Lakeside Cafe has several strengths that make it a popular choice for customers. Firstly, the staff at the cafe are consistently described as friendly and welcoming. They appear to enjoy being at work and provide excellent customer service, making customers feel right at home. This positive interaction with staff creates a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere for customers to enjoy their dining experience.
The cafe is also praised for its menu offerings. The breakfast options, specifically the full English breakfast, are highly regarded. Customers appreciate that the price for a full English breakfast includes a drink, which adds value to their dining experience. The food is described as "banging" and the price is considered reasonable, with a full English breakfast costing £5.90 including a cuppa. This combination of tasty food and reasonable prices is a major strength of Lakeside Cafe.
Another strength of the cafe is its location. It is described as a great little place tucked away in the business park. This suggests that the cafe provides a convenient option for those working in the area. Whether customers are looking for a quick takeaway bite or a more substantial meal, Lakeside Cafe has their needs covered. The variety of filling choices for sandwiches, as well as the availability of pastries, hot food, and cake, make it a versatile option for different tastes and preferences.
Despite its strengths, Lakeside Cafe does have some weaknesses that can be addressed to further improve the customer experience. One of the weaknesses mentioned is the long wait during working week lunch hours. This suggests that the cafe may struggle with managing high customer demand during peak hours, resulting in slow service. Improving the efficiency of service during busy periods could enhance the overall dining experience and reduce waiting times for customers.
Another weakness highlighted by a customer is the confusing experience for first-time visitors. Although the staff are friendly and approachable, the layout or signage of the cafe may not be clear, leading to confusion for customers. Improving the accessibility and layout of the cafe to make it more user-friendly for new customers could enhance their experience and make them feel more comfortable.
In terms of cleanliness, one customer mentions plates left everywhere and boxes piled up around the room. This indicates a lack of attention to cleanliness and organization. Maintaining a clean and tidy environment could greatly improve the overall impression of the cafe for customers and create a more pleasant dining atmosphere.
Additionally, the cafe is criticized for not offering a range of gluten or wheat-free products. This limits its appeal for customers with specific dietary requirements. Expanding the menu to include options for customers with dietary restrictions could attract a broader customer base and cater to a wider range of needs.
Lastly, some customers mention concerns about price increases, particularly in relation to salad items. The perceived increase in salad prices is seen as greedy and insulting to customers. Addressing concerns about price increases and ensuring that prices are justified by the quality and value of the food could help maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty.
In conclusion, Lakeside Cafe has several strengths including friendly staff, tasty food at reasonable prices, and a convenient location. However, there are areas that could be improved, such as managing service during peak hours, enhancing the cleanliness and organization of the cafe, expanding the menu to cater to dietary restrictions, and carefully considering price increases to maintain customer satisfaction. By addressing these weaknesses, Lakeside Cafe can strengthen its position as a popular dining destination.
