Quick Facts About Jinette's Dominican Hair Salon

Jinette's Dominican Hair Salon has various strengths and weaknesses, as mentioned in the comments above.
One of the strengths is their ability to wash and style hair. Multiple commenters noted that they do a good job in these aspects. This suggests that the salon has experienced and skilled stylists who know how to work with different hair types and create desired hairstyles. This expertise in washing and styling can be attractive to potential customers who are looking for professional and satisfactory results.
Additionally, the salon's availability and hours of operation are seen as positive aspects. One commenter mentions that the salon is open seven days a week, which can be convenient for customers who have limited availability during weekdays. The ability to walk in without having to make an appointment is also mentioned as a strength. This flexibility in scheduling allows for spontaneity and can accommodate individuals who need a last-minute hair appointment.
On the other hand, several weaknesses were identified. One common issue raised is the communication barrier due to language differences. Commenters mentioned that the salon staff's limited English-speaking abilities can sometimes make it difficult to effectively convey what they want or understand the stylist's instructions. This can be frustrating for customers who value clear and efficient communication during their salon experience.
Another weakness highlighted is the cleanliness and overall atmosphere of the salon. Multiple commenters mentioned that the salon lacked cleanliness and proper ventilation. This can create discomfort and dissatisfaction among customers who prioritize cleanliness and a pleasant environment during their salon visits.
Furthermore, some commenters expressed concerns with the salon's professionalism and customer service. Rude behavior from staff members and a lack of professionalism were mentioned by multiple individuals. This includes instances of stylists refusing service or experiencing unprofessional behavior from the staff. These negative experiences can lead to a loss of trust and loyalty among customers.
Other weaknesses mentioned include limited hairstyle choices, the use of questionable or cheap products, and issues with pricing. These factors can contribute to a negative overall experience for customers and deter them from returning to the salon.
In conclusion, Jinette's Dominican Hair Salon has strengths in its ability to wash and style hair and its flexible scheduling options. However, weaknesses such as language barriers, cleanliness issues, unprofessional behavior, limited hairstyle choices, and pricing concerns have been noted by customers. These weaknesses can impact the overall quality of the salon experience and may deter potential customers from choosing Jinette's Dominican Hair Salon as their preferred hair salon.

Best KBFKR Reviews

They do a good job washing and styling but their shampoos are questionable to me. I also saw dawn dish soap next to the shampoos. When I was getting my hair washed, I smelled a familiar scent (possibly dish soap), which made me uncomfortable. Lastly, the way in which the "Shampoo-ist" urgently combed my hair out or not carefully and gently combed my hair concerned me.
If you don't care about your natural hair then, it's a good place for you.
Was
dissappointed because i was told i could only get the hair styles shown on their card. I could not get the choice i wanted. I had never heard of that in any other good...will never return there. The "finishing touch" on my hair...looked a MESS!!
These women are very rude , came in at 12:34 for a wash and blow dry and then I was refused because out of 7 stylist none wanted to do my hair because I have 4 beaded weft tracks in and I would have to go under the hooded dryer for an hour . Mind you im a licensed cosmetologist I maintenance and install extensions everyday I explained they can wash and blow dry and then put me under the dryer for a half an hour that would be easier and still efficient. today was my only day off and no one would help me with something simple . I already don’t agree with the amount of heat they use their poor styling and cheap products but as a last minute last resort I figured give them a shot I only wanted a wash and press I thought that was reasonable . They don’t want to work they were all sitting there doing nothing looking at me . An hour under the dryer was the reason for denying me service - this is unacceptable. Stop patronizing unlicensed non English speaking stylist . I tried . This only confirms why I only deal with professional salons .
So I got the normal wash and curl. They talked about how difficult my beautiful natural hair was. Nobody wanted to do it. They didn’t know I spoke Spanish. They claim to do natural hair but DO NOT GO UNLESS YOU DETANGLE BEFOREHAND. They do not detangle from tip to root. The lady was constantly pulling on my hair like she didn’t know how to detangle curly ( not wavy) hair. It was kind of upsetting. My experience was so so. Once they figured out I could understand what they were saying, the convos got short. They they said they were surprised that my hair was so fine after blow drying it. As if black girl hair can’t be long and voluminous. It was an annoying appointment. Plus they only take cash so I had to have my dad bring me cash because they wouldn’t let me leave the store. Probably won’t go Again. And it sucks because I used to love them.
Edit: I saw in other reviews that they use relaxer in their conditioner. I’m going to ask them today. If that’s true, I will be filing a complaint because I haven’t had chemical treatments since I 2003.
1st.They do pretty Good hair, but the language barrier is a problem at times. 2nd day took someone else there to get there hair done, I realized why I stopped going there in the 1st place,They can be extremely unprofessional the place is not cleaned well, no ventilation, and they do a lot of pointing instead of communicating, They barely speak when you come in and most employees look miserable. I wish them luck in staying opened because I also noticed they don't have as much business, they use to stay packed everyday they were opened. Ya, covid has some to do with it,but Likely there Attitudes and unprofessional mannerisms has to as well. Sorry hate giving bad reviews but Im disappointed in Janets
I would visit this salon on a regular basis. Then I stopped going because my edges began to thin out. I started going to a black owned salon for about 6 months and my hair grew and thickened tremendously. One weekend I was unable to get an appointment with my new stylist so I decided to go back to this salon. I got a wash and press as usual. I did notice while getting my hair washed my scalp began to tingle. I did not pay attention to it. My hair was beautifully done as usual and I went on my way. The following week I went to my regular stylist and we noticed my hair was thin and didn’t have much volume as before. I firmly believe perm was put in my hair at Jinette’s salon. As my hair grew out my scalp would hurt. The irritation to the scalp did occur previously when I stopped going the first time. I was so ignorant and didn’t think this actually was what they were doing. The staff is polite and friendly. But why do they think this is professional to put chemicals in someone’s hair without their permission. They don’t know if I had any allergies to perm. Everyone thinks it’s the heat that breaks their hair off. No ladies it’s the perm they are putting in your hair. Please stop this practice. You are ruining people’s hair. Now I know why some people bring their own shampoo and conditioner to be washed with.
Prices are not affordable any more. I took my neice to have her hair done yesterday and her hair cost more than mine and I have more hair than she does. I will not be returning.
My stylist did an awesome job. Walk in only. Open 7 days a week. This place is my go-to when I can't get an appointment with my regular stylist.
