Head Lockx is ???? percent my go to in Louisville as far as dreads. I had a horrible experience with an unorganized man at Sola Salon in Louisville who couldn't keep up with his appointments & flaked on me last minute. I was able to call CeeCee & make a last minute appointment with her & she did a WONDERFUL job. I get compliments when I go out & make sure to give credit to her. I'm very grateful that I found this place especially since I'm new to my loc journey. I will certainly be making this my go to salon. ????????????????????
Love love love this place!!! My cousin Felicia works here. Came here Saturday and got a treatment and Bob haircut, she done a wonderful job as always! They specialize in locs, (also will do other hairstyles) When I tell you they do a really great job. You'll leave here feeling so great about yourself. I love salon talk, they kept me laughing and smiling the whole time. And guess what, your not sitting in the salon all damn day!! There awesome with time management!! Book you an appointment rather you need fresh locs, or whatever I promise you won't regret it!! (This place is full of black girl magic!!) Also there's a baber on the other side.
From all the other reviews, this is a great salon. It was not for me.
I’ll start by saying this was my first time here. I don’t know anyone. I went in for a consultation and the stylist didn’t bother to introduce herself or have a conversation with me about my hair type, loc options, etc. Her clear priority was to be done with my hair in 30 minutes and it showed. The size of my starter locs are larger than I expected and requested but since the stylist was clearly in a rush to do other things, I paid and left. There was no effort to connect. This was the equivalent to a fast food experience salon style. The bathroom was clean. The music and conversation amongst staff was a vibe. From my experience, the bedside manner and execution leave much to be desired.
I’ll be taking these locs down and restarting myself with care.

C. Smith was EXCELLENT! She made my hair look amazing for my wedding—did exactly what I wanted—even though I didn’t articulate it well! She was efficient and courteous and was a magician with my hair. I only get my hair done professionally about once per year, but now she will be my stylist!

It's been a challenge finding a b.o.b. salon in Louisville with skilled stylists who understand all hair types, a comfortable atmosphere, and fair pricing. So excited to have found a place of open communication and trusted haircare. Now I can enjoy the experience without worry, that's priceless! I was referred to this business because my original hairstylist moved away and I am very pleased with the service I received. So far, it appears the young lady who did my hair (CeeCee) is into healthy hair, which is a must for me. I've already scheduled my next appointment. Looking forward to my next visit.
All I can say is wow! I have never seen someone do a two strain twist faster than Felicia!! She doesn't mess around! Not only is she fast but the hairstyle looks clean and crisp!. Thanks again I'll definitely be back!
