Quick Facts About Francines St Austell

Francines St Austell Place has several strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
One of the strengths mentioned is the great value for money. Customers found that the portions were massive and felt that they received good value for what they paid. The large portion of chips, in particular, was noted to be able to feed two people. This suggests that the prices at Francines St Austell Place are reasonable and customers can get a satisfying meal without breaking the bank.
Another strength mentioned is the quality of the food. Customers found that the chips were not greasy and were well-cooked. While there is some uncertainty about the quality of the cod, some customers enjoyed it and found it to be tasty. This suggests that Francines St Austell Place can deliver good-tasting food, at least in some cases.
However, there are several weaknesses that were mentioned in the comments. One customer complained that their second visit to the chippy was "disgusting" and the food was not edible. This suggests that there may be inconsistent quality in the food, as the same customer had a previous bad experience as well. Another customer described their fish as "gooey, floppy" and "greasy," stating that it was the worst fish they have ever had from a chippy. This indicates that there may be issues with the overall quality of the food, specifically the fish.
There were also complaints about the customer service at Francines St Austell Place. One customer mentioned that when they informed the restaurant about the poor quality of the food, they were told to bring it back. However, they were concerned that the chips would go cold, so they declined the offer. This exchange suggests that the restaurant was not accommodating or understanding of the customer's situation. Another customer mentioned that they were given a sarcastic reply from the restaurant when they called to complain. This indicates poor customer service and suggests that the staff may not handle complaints professionally.
Some customers also mentioned a decline in value for money. One customer found that the prices were not great anymore, particularly citing the high price of £3.80 for a spam fritter. This suggests that Francines St Austell Place may have experienced a price increase without a corresponding improvement in quality or portion sizes. Another customer mentioned that they found less filling in their chicken and mushroom dish, indicating a decrease in value for the price paid.
Overall, the strengths of Francines St Austell Place include good value for money and the potential for well-cooked and tasty food. However, the weaknesses include inconsistent food quality, poor customer service, and a potential decline in value for money. These weaknesses should be addressed by the restaurant in order to improve overall customer satisfaction.

Best KBFKR Reviews

OK it's a chippy so what more can I say. We'll great value for money, and massive portions. Chips not greasy, can't say on the cod but my folks enjoyed them. FYI large Chips can feed two people ???????????? underestimated the meaning of large. Slight wait but worth it. Would I use again? Yep.
Disgusting ???? not edible for the second time. Told them the fist time it wasn't good enough, decided to give them another chance but things were worse!
Sweaty cheese thrown on clearly warm chips not hot, otherwise the cheese would have actually melted somewhat . The fish was gooey, floppy, what wasn't stuck together fell apart, sticky mess inside and so greasy it was actually dripping out from it! See the pictures to see what i mean, even them don't show quite how bad it really was. Worst fish I have ever had from a chippy.
When they were informed about it I was told not asked to bring it back, when I said no the chips would go cold so I'll bring them back once I've had the chips. So then said they would give free med chips, but that wasn't what I ordered. They didn't make it easy so I gave up before everything else went colder and that I'd leave this review.
Thought I'd see if it was just a bad day so gave it another try, we WERE regulars! But the next week it was even worse that even the cheesy chips was a sweaty tangy mess.
It wasn't busy only one other person that quickly left. Due to it being near closing I couldn't take it back in time so that's another order from them in the bin.
Wont return and look forward to their sarcastic reply. Should learn to mute the phone as can still hear you, '' for future reference'' as you like to say.
A fantastic chippie, very popular, really well cooked food and plenty of choice. Definitely the best fish and chips we've had in a long time and very generous portions. We'll definitely be back in the future and very happy to recommend.
I've always enjoyed eating from Francines but the value for money is not that great anymore. £3.80 for a spam fritter is a joke and the same price for chicken and mushroom that had hardly any filling in it. I won't be going there much anymore.
Stayed with friends for the night in St Austell we went to Francine's for a take out dinner. Food was lovely with absolutely huge portions, could save money with slightly smaller portions as most of mine went to waste.
Doner meat & chips
Pie, chips & spring roll
Large battered sausage & chips
Curry sauce
Always busy really good portion sizes so therefore good value for money. Curry sauce nice n spicy. Spicy spuds a good choice too.
Lovely tasting fish and chips, good portions, although fish and chips are no longer a cheap meal it's still good value for money for the taste and size of the meal you get
Oh me gosh! Just had our first ever cod and chips on a spur of the moment stop off … out of the corner of my eye I noticed a sign saying “we fry in beef dripping”. I knew then that it would be a winner and it did not disappoint! Great tasting chips - the perfect combination of crispy and yet also soggy from all the vinegar and the cod was cooked to perfection. Good value for money too and the place was very clean. We will go back. Probably often.
