Surprising bar in a surprising place. Modern, peaceful, great view on the canal from the top of the hill. Lovely service for a very welcome drink after a long day visiting doel and neighbourhood. Strongly recommended.
Good place for a drink and a bite while visiting the otherwise almost deserted village Doel. Windmill dating back to 1614, must have seen quite a lot as it oversees the river Schelde and the backlands. Situated right on top of the dyke it offers a stunning view on the environment. There is a small terrace, inside surprised me actually with the number of seats they offer. Not sure howngoodnthe food is, but it seems OK. Friendly staff!
It was really unexpected that there was something like this in Doel. We had a pancake with ice-cream and some beer.

Nice bar/restaurant in the desolated village of Doel.
I ordered a beer at this restaurant and it was great. My friends all ordered rice pudding and it tasted like sweetened Milan risotto. Inedible. Plus the staff is very rude towards young people.

In an usual location half way up a dyke in a virtually derelict village. Lots of parking. The view of the Schelde is inspiring. There's a cycle path along the top of the dyke. The home cooked food is excellent, and well presented. Popular with locals from the nearby nuclear power station.
