After a crappy day with a tire, I needed some comfort food. Chen's Wok was the place to go in my childhood when I lived on the Northside, so grabbed the old favorite Combo Plate of Double Order of Honey Braised Chicken Wings and Pepper Steak with Veggie Fried Rice. Everything tasted fresh and awesome even though it was after 9 PM. Great service, great portions, good price!
Ordered general tso chicken and rice on today July 18th for lunch. When I opened it the color of the sauce looked like watered down gravy and the meat had a sour/ bitter taste. So I took it back and was told (it was from yesterday.) And she kept saying she can’t give me my money back from before. But I just ordered it today and brought it right back. They are usually nice but today I had a bad experience. I will not be eating from here anymore.
The food was brought back the same day. The girl that took my order said she remembered that I just ordered my food. I did not wait 24 hours to take the food back. It was still hot when I brought it back. This was around 12:30-1:00 July 18 when I purchased order.
Ordered the sesame chicken and fried rice plate with a side of egg drop soup.
Sesame chicken was delicious but had no sesame seeds. Fried rice was great as well but would’ve loved to have the normal peas & carrots mixed in!
Despite that, the meal was great as always and it’s ALOT of food for a good price. Can eat off of this plate twice!
House Lomien is awful. Hot and Sour Soup isn't even hot or sour. Worst Chinese Food I Have ever attempted to eat. Threw it all in the Trash. Back from where apparently came from. Don't waste your money. All tasted old
Always have fresh food and very quick service. I've read some of the reviews on here and I want to add something. This I know for sure. I have ate at this restaurant for as long as its been open and never not one time has the atmosphere nor the service been nothing but all five stars. They make sure you have everything you payed for fresh and well together. Definitely a great place to get your money worth and your belly's full. Great great great.
I was pleasantly surprised how DELICIOUS the pork fried rice is. Best fried rice in town hands down! I'm addicted. I've eaten fsntastic fried rice back home(NY) and this reminds me of home. I've not eaten anything else here but mom loves the egg rolls. Plenty of people come to eat there. Take out only. The employees were pleasant. Thanks!!!
Don’t get the chicken fried rice here. It’s chicken and rice. Fried rice by default includes egg, onion, carrots, and peas at a minimum. Yuck.
I used to think that Chen's wok was the best Chinese food in Macon. However I do not think that anymore. The last couple of times I have gotten food from there it has been down right awful. I decided to give them one more try in hopes that the past couple of times was just a fluke or someone was having a bad night. Once again I was very disappointed . The food was so bad that I couldn't even eat it. Their lo mein is nothing more than chicken noodle soup dressed up and sesemi chicken was chewy and the sauce must have been out of a can. Sorry, for the bad review but just so disappointed.
