If you have the choice, I highly recommend that you avoid inpatient stays at Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor and instead, stay here at Chelsea Hospital.
The single rooms alone would be a major reason. It's quiet here. You'll not be woken up nearly as much. Your stay will be more therapeutic because you'll actually get rest. The rooms are also huge with lots of room for family to visit. Very comfortable.
I've had nothing but positive interactions with all of my care team and from a patient perspective, it seems like they staff their units fairly well because I really haven't had to wait long for anything. A nurse may have a different opinion on that, though! At any rate, the longest I waited for my call light to be answered was probably 5 mins. They stay on top of what you need and even want.
Hopefully I can come back here for any future inpatient stays. Really nice hospital, great staff, best inpatient experience I've had yet.
Had a scheduled outpatient surgery today.
The receptionist looked past me and addressed his questions to the man standing behind me. Very odd.
Check in had all of my info and was very efficient.
Surgery nurses brought me back and got me set up. Had all my info and updated the little that was missing. Great teamwork. No one rushing.
Nice facility, modern equipment, no staff grumbling that things do not work.
- the gown was a fancy surgery paper gown with all sorts of access points. My procedure was on my hand. Seems a waste
- chlorhexidine wipes were a 6-pack. I needed 1 for my hand. Another waste
- Dr Grutter, anesthesiologist was great. I have a sensitivity, not an allergy, and we discussed my options.
- as a result recovery was quick and prompt discharge.
Thank you
I gave a three instead of a zero because even though the doctor failed me and ran a ct scan with contrast knowing good and well it should have no contrast. Twice your ct readers have failed me. I went there Monday for flank pain and they did a ct with contrast and said everything looks great go home.. By Thursday I was rushed to emergency room via ambulance only to find out I had not one but two stones blocking my pee! How can a CT scan let miss two stone two hernias and swollen kidneys and ureters..?? Sent me home and said I was perfectly fine! Only to suffer in pain and agony to then have Henry Ford save my life!! What are the odds of that? I bring my momma to Chelsea and yall saved her life for her on the right meds but then turn around and kill me for doing the wrong CT and not listing anything. Just makes me upset because I had an emergency sir scheduled and because of the false information it was canceled and had to be rushed to a hospital I don’t feel safe at.. worst days of my life lately! I hope your ct people get better training or the doctors know to not use contrast with stones!!
Thank you to the ER team for saving my father! You guys never gave up on him and continued CPR to make sure he stayed with us. Fast, efficient and great communication skills! My family cannot thank the team enough.
My husband had a partial robotic kidney procedure there on 2-9-24. Everything and everyone there were amazing. The facility was clean and welcoming and everyone from check in to the RNs to the PAs to the anesthesia group to the surgeon was so friendly and helpful. A shout out to his nurses Kali and Kym for exceptional service. I have been in the medical field myself for over 15 years and know quality service when I see it. Thanks again Chelsea Hospital for making a scary situation more pleasant. ????????
We had the unfortunate need to use the ER at Chelsea St. Joseph Hospital and the experience was excellent. I see others do not share this experience, which is unfortunate, but we had no complaints. The nurses were attentive, patient, and professional. The doctor asked all the right questions and made sure my daughter's concerns were addressed. I would not hesitate to recommend the ER/Hospital.
I came in with a broken knee cap that I had sustained from a fall. There were open wounds as well on my knee. A brace was wrapped around my knee to immobilize it. However, no bandages were applied before the wrap was placed around my knee. Therefore, some of the wrap adhered to my knee as the open wounds healed.
I really appreciated the care and how quickly I was taken back, I had went in scared out of my mind but everyone I saw was so kind to me and helped comfort me, every single person I talked to checking in, checking vitals, and my nurses were so nice and amazing. They did everything and more to care for me and help.
